She is a singer-songwriter currently finishing her album which she kept due for a long time. Besides being a lover of earth and travelling, Gory keeps on rambling from one place to another in order to inspire and motivate herself to keep on writing more about what’s happening in the world.

She believes music is the tool for human consciousness to reach its higher peak and unite with each other. So whatever music we consume, whatever lyrics we read it ultimately becomes our reality.

Acclaimed Director/Photographer Tony Briggs is very pleased to present an exclusive insight into the world of one of Britpop’s perhaps most overlooked bands: Ocean Colour Scene.

Available from Friday 9 September, Behind The Scene is a brand-new limited edition book that will look back at Briggs’ official photography work with Ocean Colour Scene at the height of their powers between 1995 to 1998. Released with the band’s full blessing, this bespoke hardback coffee table book will offer an intimate pictorial record of the band’s meteoric rise to fame through the period which saw them release the classic albums: ‘Moseley Shoals’, ‘B-Sides, Seasides & Freerides’ and ‘Marchin Already’.

Full of behind-the-scenes pictures, iconic album covers and never-before-seen images; Behind The Scene is also adorned with choice quotes from the band, stories from those who were there, plus a foreword by OCS’ founding guitarist Steve Cradock.

Across its 250 elegantly designed pages, Briggs beautifully documents the band enjoying the spoils of their long-earned chart success from the very heart of the action. From ecstatic scenes of the band ripping-out an embryonic “Hundred Mile High City” in the studio, to posing about London in gifted Mini Coopers, and the moment they walked out to 200,000 adoring fans at Glastonbury; there’s even appearances from contemporaries including Paul Weller, Liam & Noel Gallagher, Ray Davies, the England ‘98 Squad and more. Ocean Colour Scene’s momentous chapter in rock’n’roll is one worth revisiting and Behind The Scene re-opens it vividly.

This special limited edition art-photography book will be fitted in a custom slipcase, presented in a large hardback format, with its images reproduced in beautiful, high end, photographic quality. Designed by Pete Kelsey (who worked on the ‘Marchin Already’ album and all of the associated single artworks), Behind The Scene is an essential accessory for the band’s dedicated fanbase, plus anyone who remembers Britpop with a fondness – from the fashion to the festivals, the football to the faces that made it a pop-cultural phenomenon.

When asked why he decided to revisit his work all these years later, Tony said:

“There really has been a lack of content, written or on-screen, about OCS, so I’m hoping to correct that. This book is a tribute to possibly the UK’s most underrated band and with the fans’ support, we can make a little bit of history.”

Funded primarily through Kickstarter, Behind The Scene is available to pre-order now here. 25% of all profits from the project also go to the International Rescue Committee whose work responds to all countries devastated by war.

A masterclass in rock’n’roll revisionism cited by the author as “a tribute to possibly the UK’s most underrated band”, Behind The Scene: Ocean Colour Scene Imagery & Imagination 1995-1998 will be released on Friday 9 September 2022.



ABOUT

Founded in Solihull in 1989, Ocean Colour Scene (OCS) are one of the biggest bands to emerge from the Britpop era. Notching-up five Top 10 albums (including a UK No.1 in ‘Marchin’ Already’, which toppled Oasis’ ‘Be Here Now’ from the summit upon its release in 1997), they have also scored a total of seventeen Top 40 singles and six Top 10 singles to date including major hits “The Day We Caught The Train” and “The Riverboat Song”. Over the years, the four-piece who featured Steve Cradock, Simon Fowler, Oscar Harrison, and Damon Minchella between 1995-1998 have worked with all manner of artists from The Spice Girls to Oasis to Paul Weller (with whom Cradock still regularly performs with). The band remain active (with Raymond Meade now taking on bass duties) and have released 10 albums to date, with their last effort ‘Painting’ released in 2013.

Fast-rising producer ODXC has returned with his brand-new EP, In the Dungeon: Chapter Two, a six-track collection that incorporates the captivating fusion of drill, hip-hop, grime and R&B that the producer from Tottenham, north London, has become known for. The project also features previous singles “Margins” and “Don’t Reason”. Released last year, the pair of tracks went on to become his most streamed to date and marked him out as an artist to watch out for in 2022.

In the Dungeon: Chapter Two follows up last year’s In the Dungeon: Chapter One. Chapter Two is on track to be even bigger and sees the talented producer once again shine a light on future stars and collaborate with a host of different artists and vocalists from around the UK. And when paired with ODXC’s dynamic and versatile genre-spanning productions, it makes for a fascinating listen from start to finish.

Speaking further on the project, ODXC says, “As a producer, networking is very important to me and during the lockdown this became more apparent. I wanted to create an inclusive platform for all types of artists and genres, shining a light on artists who wouldn’t get the opportunity especially during the lockdown, which was hard for many people. I never like to pigeonhole myself, so the second chapter has a variety of sounds and genres like R&B, grime, rap and drill.”

The project is led by new grime single “R T R Freestyle”, which features north London MC Ben DSP. Elaborating further, ODXC says, “I have always had a love for grime, and I’ve wanted to work with Ben DSP for a while. Ben has been on my radar since I noticed him shelling down shows throughout 2020. This is our first release and not the last. We have great chemistry in the studio, so we will definitely cook up more tracks in the future.” Ben added, “Whenever I hear a grime or grime-inspired beat, it brings playful and fun bars out of me and this was no different. OD’s got good energy, so we just fed off each other really. First of many together I’m sure.”

The 25-year-old shooting guard, hailing from Hamilton, Ontario, plays for Phoenix Mercury. Nurse is a rising star, having made Team Canada at 16, winning two NCAA championships by 20 and setting franchise records when she stepped onto the court during her WNBA rookie season. In 2019, Nurse was selected as a WNBA All-Star and now has her eyes set on the upcoming Olympic Games as a veteran leader on Team Canada. Recently, Nurse joined TSN as a basketball analyst for the Toronto Raptors broadcast.

ACC Network (ACCN), the 24/7 national platform dedicated to ACC sports, will present of several ACC Football Pro Days across the network’s platforms beginning with the conference champion Clemson Tigers on Thursday, March 11.

Jordan Cornette will host Clemson Pro Day (10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. ET, ACCN) from ESPN’s Bristol, Conn. studio joined by his teammates from the The Huddle – Eric Mac LainEJ Manuel and Mark Richt. ESPN NFL Draft analyst and Senior Bowl Executive Director Jim Nagy and NFL front office insider Mike Tannenbaum will also provide insight throughout Thursday’s coverage.

Notable participants include: wide receivers Amari Rodgers, Cornell Powell and Diondre Overton, tight end J.C. Chalk, and running backs Travis Etienne and Adam Choice.

On March 25, HBO Max will premiere the new animated special THE RUNAWAY BUNNY, based on the children’s book by Margaret Wise Brown. Producer and director Amy Schatz captures the gentle magic of this classic with the use of traditional hand-drawn animation, narration and performance of an original Margaret Wise Brown lullaby by Tracee Ellis Ross and songs by Grammy® winning artists Mariah Carey, Kelly Rowland, Rosanne Cash, Ziggy Marley and Kimya Dawson, as well as Grammy® nominees Rufus Wainwright and Michael Kiwanuka.  
 
Originally published in 1942 by HarperCollins Publishers, the book has sold over 12 million copies and continues to enchant generations of children. THE RUNAWAY BUNNY brings the illustrations of Clement Hurd and the poetry of Margaret Wise Brown to animated life for the first time. Featuring a restless little bunny who dreams of leaving home, the film is an exploration of love and childhood. Woven throughout the story are songs that accompany the bunny on his imaginary, magical adventures into the world and back home to the comfort of his mother’s love.

Fundraising effort will support national and local charities

Women’s basketball fans will have the opportunity to be represented at the Women’s Final Four in San Antonio as part of a new fan cutout program that will support several causes.

All proceeds from the cutout program will benefit three nonprofits: the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, which awards research grants and funds programs to serve the underserved in the fight against all cancers affecting women; the Pat Summitt Foundation, which funds research for treatment and a cure for Alzheimer’s disease while supporting patients and caregivers; and the San Antonio Food Bank, which serves hundreds of thousands of individuals at risk for hunger across southwest Texas.

“This fan cutout initiative provides an opportunity for women’s basketball fans — who have passionately supported the growth of the game — to continue to make an impact during an unprecedented year,” said Lynn Holzman, NCAA vice president of women’s basketball. “While the program will enhance the in-venue experience for participating teams, it will more importantly support causes that are close to the hearts of the women’s basketball and San Antonio communities.”

Cutouts at the Women’s Final Four will be interspersed with limited fan seating available for the games. Earlier this year, the NCAA announced in conjunction with local health officials that tournament venues in San Antonio would host up to 17% capacity with masking and physical distancing of fans.

Cutouts will be featured inside the Alamodome for the Women’s Final Four semifinal games and the national championship game. Sales begin today and conclude Sunday, March 28. Cutouts cost $100 and can be purchased at ncaa.com/womens-final-four. Current college students can purchase cutouts at a discounted rate of $50 with their school email address.

For an additional fee, fans can choose to ship the cutouts home afterward to keep as a memento. Any cutouts that are not purchased will be recycled after the event.

“The Kay Yow Cancer Fund is honored and grateful to be a beneficiary of the NCAA’s fan cutouts initiative at the 2021 Women’s Final Four. We continue to be so appreciative of the impact women’s basketball is making in the fight against all cancers affecting women,” said Kay Yow Cancer Fund CEO, Stephanie Glance. “Coach Yow loved the championship, and she believed in the power of uniting people for a common cause. What better way to show our unity at this time than through a fan-based initiative that will be a visible display of support at the championship.”

“It is such an honor to be chosen by the NCAA to be featured as one of the three charities of choice for this amazing initiative,” said Joan Cronan, advisory board chair for the Pat Summitt Foundation. “We are grateful to be featured alongside the Kay Yow Cancer Fund and the San Antonio Food Bank. Thank you to the NCAA for supporting our mission to defeat Alzheimer’s and carrying on coach Summitt’s legacy.”
