Max Swan Finds the Sweet Spot Between Soul and Songcraft on “LMK”
Max Swan’s “LMK” has the kind of warmth that comes from a song being allowed to breathe. The Philadelphia-area songwriter, producer and vocalist keeps the instrumentation measured, giving his voice and the melody plenty of room while still adding enough detail to make repeated listens worthwhile.
Piano provides the main musical thread, with EWI, sax, cello and bass joining in around it. There is a sense of musicianship in the arrangement without the track becoming a showcase for the individual instruments. Everything serves the song, particularly Swan’s vocal, which carries the lyrics with an easy, conversational delivery.
The writing is where “LMK” really draws you in. Swan moves between the practical details of trying to reach someone and the heavier reality of knowing that person has been feeling alone. The repeated requests to meet or talk give the verses a natural rhythm, while the chorus opens the song up into something more reassuring.
There is also plenty going on beneath the surface. The song began before Swan’s home was badly damaged by a flood in 2021, and he later recovered its chorus from an old voice memo while clearing out the property. Much of the track was then developed during a period in which he was rebuilding the house and working long plumbing shifts.
That background adds context without defining the track. Musically, “LMK” stands on its own as a carefully written song with a strong melodic centre and an arrangement that rewards attention to the details.
It is a release that feels considered without sounding overworked, and that balance suits Swan particularly well.

Naomi Aguilera casts her spell with her new single BB ILY
Two years ago, Naomi Aguilera walked onto my radar with EGO, an infectious soulful pop debut that made it impossible not to move. Fast forward to her debut EP Mosaïques, and it was clear she wasn’t just passing through. Personal, colorful, rooted in her Spanish heritage & Brussels upbringing, it even earned her a spot as Apple Music Benelux’s Up Next artist!
Now she’s back with BB ILY, marking the start of a new era. The bilingual single — French and English — is built around one of the most universal human experiences: that special connection that doesn’t need translation. Where EGO invited you to forget your ex on the dancefloor, BB ILY pulls you somewhere more intimate: with sultry beats courtesy of Turana, it’s a dance where gestures, whispers, sighs and the sound of a voice matters more than the words that come out of it… It’s sensual, a little mystical, and entirely her own.
First taste of Naomi Aguilera’s upcoming project Ojalá, due in 2027, it feels effortlessly catchy. This is the kind of track that casts its spell quietly, with interesting and unexpected rhythmic shifts in the verses, and a delicious chorus that lodges itself in your head before you even notice. By the time you do, it’s too late. But you won’t find me complaining about it!
