Not even a month since debuting on the scene, Baydream is back with the debut EP, “Cosmos.” Baydream’s debut singles, “The Flame” and “Peasants,” were released on the same day last month. The pair of singles are not on “Cosmos;” thus, the four-track EP introduces fans to four never-before-heard songs that demonstrate why Baydream is a rising star.

“Cosmos” is an eclectic body of work. The EP takes listeners on a sonic journey. Akin to the EP’s name, the EP has a spacey, futuristic sound. It is Alternative, Experimental, Indie, Pop, Rock, etc. It truly has its own sound, and Baydream does a great job of showcasing versatility.

“Cosmos” commences with “Leaving.” “Leaving” has synthy sounds with a rhythmic, catchy drum-based backbone. The vocals are soothing and blend with the instrumentation. Track two, “Shatter Matter,” keeps the cloudy sound, but adds electric guitar and has a more Soft Rock ambiance. Baydream’s crooning maintains the euphonious, laid-back tone that is pervasive in Baydream’s music. The EP then turns to “Enigma.” Ironically, “Enigma” has an experimental, unique sound. Baydream uses a blend of autotune and an almost Rap-like flow to express the clever message of the song. The final song, “Fooled,” slows the pace back down a bit and is a great record to serve as the closer for the EP. “Fooled” has a more traditional sound to it, but still maintains the distinctive tone that Baydream is known for.

“Cosmos” is the perfect fall EP. Although, the EP is great for any occasion, it does have a “sitting by the fireplace” or “being out in nature, watching the stars or leaves fall” sound. Each song on the EP has an infectious, memorable sound and resonating lyrics. Press play of “Cosmos” and let it take you to another world.

Thanksgiving weekend is a time for family and pondering our roots. Ana Kiri returns with the perfect song for the occasion. “Beat of Freedom” is a vulnerable, inspirational song by Ukrainian born and raised, Ana Kiri. The single has an epic sound reminiscent of “Hall of Fame” by The Script, which utilizes Pop, Rock, and Soul to drive its impactful nature, and preach hope and peace. The song itself is an Easter egg to its overall message – its length is 3 minutes and 33 seconds long. “333” is an angel number and stands for the Holy Trinity, symbolizing hope.

Although Ana Kiri is now based in Miami, she will forever be a proud Ukrainian. With the upheaval and war going on in the Ukraine, Ana Kiri felt it necessary to release a track dedicated to showing the world what it means to be Ukrainian, and the relentless spirit and fight Ukrainians have. The war has brought much destruction, devastation, and pain. But, “Beat of Freedom” is less so a sad song, but a song that accentuates the strength in us all and provides listeners with the message to never give up.

“Beat of Freedom” is a powerful and uplifting patriotic music piece about the struggles of the Ukraine. “Freedom or death – that is the core spirit of every Ukrainian.” Ana Kiri continues: “It was true for us in the Orange Revolution. It was true for us during the Maidan Revolution, and it is the same for us today. We know who we are, and we have an absolute right to exist. The heartbeat of Ukrainians is the ‘beat of freedom.’ Without freedom, our hearts will just stop. Freedom is our truth. It is our spirit, and who we are. We are Cossacks!”

The anthem was penned by Ana Kiri with some assistance from Jack R. Hardman. Ana Kiri also threw on her producer hat and co-produced “Beat of Freedom” alongside gifted producers Jaki Nelson and Luke Villemur. The lyric video was created by the ultra-talented Claudia Sobradillo. At the direction of Ana Kiri, the lyric video is more than just that. Ana Kiri used Ukrainian vyshyvanka embroidery, which is the nation’s code. Ana Kiri states: “Ukrainians believe that the embroidered shirt is a talisman against all the evil that can happen in human life. Each vyshyvanka symbol represents a different message, but each vyshyvanka encodes happiness, destiny, life, and will in the ornament.”

“Beat of Freedom” is a change of pace from Ana Kiri’s traditionally more poppy, electronic style of music, but it is just as masterful as her typical discography. The record is one that resonates with all listeners and puts a righteous feeling in everyone’s pit of their stomach. Press play and feel free to belt out “Beat of Freedom” anywhere and everywhere.

Brynja closed out the month of October with her first full-length album, “Repeat.” The thirteen-track album is chock-full of diverse sounds and topics. Brynja showcases her soothing, euphonious singing and her melodic, Lauryn Hill-esque rapping. “Repeat” encapsulates the various genres to a tee: Alternative, Hip-Hop/Rap, Indie, Pop, R&B/Soul, etc. The album has been in the works for four years, and as they say, can’t rush greatness. “Repeat” is evident of that as the album is immaculate from the beginning to the end.

Repeat” features two lead singles, “Fight” and “My Oh My.” The first song on “Repeat,” “Fight,” has already seen its share of success as it was placed on the Netflix show, “Katla.” Following the first song, “Repeat” dives into real life topics and was bred from the issue of global warming. The songs’ titles cleverly disguise the synopses of the records, but they generally touch upon the circle of life, repetition of history, and emotions. “I took the train for an hour to SAE Institute in Amsterdam every morning, and I‘d listen to podcasts.” Bryjna continues: “There was this podcast that got me really hooked called, ‘Dissect,’ in which host Cole Cole Cuchna dissected iconic Rap and R&B albums. It taught me about the art of putting together an album thoughtfully. I thought people just wrote songs, and then bundled them together in an album. It had never occurred to me to think about it in the other order: first album, then songs. This podcast coupled with my obsession with global warming set me on the path to write this album thoughtfully.”

Brynja not only showcases her vocal prowess on “Repeat,” but her penmanship is to be commended as she fully wrote the entire album by herself, excluding “Be Alright,” which was co-written with Alexander Spoor, and “My Oh My,” which was co-written with Merle Verseef. Track six, “Breathe,” features Dutch singer-songwriter Care. To give Brynja even more flowers, she had a hand in the production of the album as well. Producer LUVR served as the primary producer of the album. Tom Rosen Jacobsen co-produced “Breathe” and “What Scares Me” alongside Brynja and LUVR. Brynja and Alexander Spoor produced, “Fight.” From “Fight” to “Aftur & Aftur,” Brynja takes you on a personal journey that all listeners can relate to and provides listeners with even the pickiest ears a new favorite song or songs. As the title of the album suggests, “Repeat” is meant to be listened to on repeat.
