“She previously acknowledged letting her colleagues and company down with an impulsive tweet,” ESPN officials said in a statement, apparently referring to a Sept. 11 tweet in which Hill called President Donald Trump a “white supremacist.”

The network said in a statement that the “SportsCenter” co-host would be suspended for two weeks.

It was not immediately clear what Hill did to violate ESPN’s social media guidelines. However, she appeared to encourage people to boycott advertisers who work with the Dallas Cowboys after the team’s owner said Sunday that players who refuse to stand during the national anthem would not be allowed on the field.

“If there is anything disrespecting the flag, then we will not play. Period,” Jerry Jones told The Dallas Morning News. “We’re going to respect the flag, and I’m going to create the perception of it.”

In a series of tweets Sunday, Hill said that Jones “underestimated how all of his fan base feels” and urged people not to support the Cowboys’s advertisers.

“This play always works,” Hill wrote Sunday night. “Change happens when advertisers are impacted. If you feel strongly about JJ’s statement, boycott his advertisers.”

Hill came under fire last month after she wrote in a series of tweets that the president “is a white supremacist who has largely surrounded himself (with) other white supremacists.”

The tweets prompted a response from White House press secretary Sarah Sanders, who said last month that she did not know if Trump had seen the post.

“I think that’s one of the more outrageous comments that anyone could make and certainly something that I think is a fireable offense by ESPN,” Sanders said last month at a White House news briefing.

Hill later apologized for her comments, saying she meant only to express her own opinion and not that of ESPN.

“My regret is that my comments and the public way I made them painted ESPN in an unfair light,” she said in a Sept. 13 statement. “My respect for the company and my colleagues remains unconditional.”
