What are your thoughts? Sweetie Pie’s was the first series to takeoff on the network. OWN’s long-running, NAACP Image Award-winning docu-series “Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s” featuring soul food entrepreneur Miss Robbie Montgomery her son Tim Norman and their exuberant family returns to OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network on Saturday, November 25 at 9 p.m. ET/PT for its fifth season. The series follows the fun-loving, musical Montgomery family through their highs and lows as they work to expand their soul food empire.

On an all-new season full of equal parts family fun and jaw-dropping drama, Miss Robbie and Tim attempt to mend their mother/son relationship by dividing the family business after previous lawsuit drama between the two. Tim heads to Houston to rebound by opening up a new, full-service restaurant, while continuing his relationship with reality star Jennifer Williams – who puts on the pressure to get engaged. Tim’s ex is married with another child on the way against the wishes of Miss Robbie who truly wanted her and Tim to mend their differences. Miss Robbie & Charles sat down for a private intimate dinner with the elite press of Atlanta.

They discussed the upcoming season and the new business endeavors while still managing and mending family relationships within the business. Sweetie Pie’s shows the black entrepreneur experience in a positive light while highlighting that black families can be successful in business even with family involved. Tune in for the new season as the Montgomery’s continue to build their family empire and legacy.

Female entrepreneurship is at an all time high. Women now make up 40 percent of new entrepreneurs in the United States — the highest percentage since 1996, according to the 2016 Kauffman Index of Startup Activity. Black female entrepreneurship in Atlanta, Georgia has blossomed especially in the entertainment business where Atlanta has become home to some of the biggest stars and artists shining light on the south’s unique fashion style and trends. She picture perfect boutique is the latest showroom now open in the heart of Atlanta perfect for your everyday looks and red carpet glam. We spoke with young boss, Tikila Wilcox about her journey to entrepreneurship while balancing motherhood and a list of other gigs that girl boss herself balances. Tikila is celebrating her 30th birthday today and couldn’t be more excited about her new business and boutique!

What made you want to become an entrepreneur?

TW: As a child I loved fashion, I’d like to say “it’s in me not on me” jokingly, I love to dress and style. I had my first job at sixteen and from there I knew I wanted to be on my own time.

What was the first step you took in putting your vision into motion?

TW: Getting into modeling and music videos were the first steps I took into breaking into the entertainment business. Entertainment goes hand in hand with fashion, it’s one big circle and I loved the fact that I could make my own schedule. Building exposure for you and your brand helps with marketing your business a lot.

What risks did you take with your business?

TW: I took risks by investing the last of my funds several times into my business. I’ve worked long days and nights without sleep because I rarely say “no” to a booking. The more I’m booked the more people I encounter. The more people I encounter the more clientele I receive.

What’s the best way to build your business and still keep yourself afloat financially?

TW: Stay focused on working towards your goals and focus on what’s important.

Top 3 things you would tell young females aspiring to own their own boutiques one day?

TW: Pray, Listen, and  Act on it!

What sets “She Picture Perfect” boutique and brand apart from the rest?

TW: We provide a private shopping experience in our luxe showroom and we have an onsite lash technicians. We have trendy and unique pieces that you won’t find anywhere else in the city. She picture perfect provides a simple yet stylish, luxe shopping experience.
