ATLANTA – SEPTEMBER 10, 2019 – The highly anticipated 4th Annual 2019 Black Music Honors hosted by
television and radio personality Rickey Smiley and Grammy® Award-winner and actress LeToya Luckett is
currently airing in national broadcast syndication. The star-studded show was taped live at The Cobb Energy
Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, GA.
The honoree Xscape, received the Urban Music Icon Award presented by AT&T for the platinum selling quartet
group’s 25 years in the industry. Chart-topping crooner, Freddie Jackson, whose career has spanned over 33 years,
received the Legend Award, presented by State Farm. Yolanda Adams received the Gospel Music Icon Award, and
culturally-conscience eclectic group, Arrested Development, Tamia and Bill Wilters also received recognition.
There were also very many memorable performance tributes by Avery Wilson, Dee-1, Jade Novah, Jagged Edge,
Jekalyn Carr, Naughty By Nature, June’s Diary, Keke Wyatt, Kelly Price, Le’Andria Johnson, Melanie Fiona,

Chicago based television production company Central City Productions announces the 2019 Black Music Honors television taping set to take place on Thursday, September 5th at The Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, GA. During this star-studded two-hour television special, Central City Productions (CCP) will honor artists and musicians who have influenced and made significant contributions to American music.
The honorees for this year’s Black Music Honors include Xscape who will receive the Urban Music Icon Award for the platinum selling quartet group’s 25 years in the industry. Yolanda Adams will receive the Gospel Music Icon Award. Culturally-conscience eclectic group, Arrested Development and chart-topping crooner, Freddie Jackson, whose career has spanned over 33 years, will also be honored.
“The vision behind the Black Music Honors is to recognize the trailblazers in African American music who have paved the way for the artists of today. Many of these artists have never received their much-deserved recognition,” stated Founder and Executive Producer, Don Jackson.

Here’s the deal: Khia and TS Madison have now come forward with new details regarding why they were almost put out of the Xscape headlined concert in the ATL recently. And at the center of the mess is T.I.

Khia and Madison say they were invited to the show by Tamar Braxton, who had asked Khia to perform her hit “My Neck, My Back.” Khia and Tamar both took to social media after the incident:

As far as what happened backstage, Khia and TS Madison allege that T.I. was one of the major reasons they were not allowed on stage with Tamar. They go as far to claim that T.I. went into Tamar’s dressing room and cursed her out over the situation.

Khia says:

“Tiny the best thing you could ever did was divorce T.I. cause he ain’t nothing but a b*tch a** n*gga. I was staring him down and he didn’t turn his head or neck and address us.”

Khia added:

“He walked by two real b*tches, went into Tamar’s dressing room and roasted her, her mother and her grandmother. Tip, how you gonna go in there and cuss out Tamar, her mother, grandmother and her sisters? Tip why didn’t you say anything to us? […] Him and Mona Scott (Young) ain’t look our way? T.I. wanted us thrown out, Tiny wanted us thrown out, they lied and said we had weapons.”

So far, neither Xscape or Tamar have responsed to requests for comments.

With Kandi’s new Broadway obligations and apprehension, the mogul is booked and busy; she doesn’t have time to be chasing or living an old dream.

As promised, the now trio released new songs, Wifed Up and Dream Killa.

I’on really have an opinion as of yet, but I will tell you that neither song makes me want to her them in their totality or even sticks out.

I think I may have to agree with Kandi. Giving the people one good go’ round is enough. The whole new music thing is cute but I just don’t see it taking off like that.

Unless they do an entire rebrand–damn near make you forget about the 90’s–it won’t work.

Besides, the 90’s is the whole reason we were glad to see them back and running.
