AWOL Da Mindwriter is “Disconnected” in new single
AWOL Da Mindwriter feels “Disconnected.” New single Produced by August Fanon (Mach Hommy, Vic Spencer) is a soulful dose of lo-fi boom bap with serious thoughts belayed by AWOL’s always animated delivery. The Great Neck, NY emcee said that the track was written to convey “themes of isolation, frustration, and the struggle to find clarity in a chaotic world.”

This track is from the forthcoming AWOL LP, Now Loading to be fully produced by August Fanon and released via his 7eMeraldsMedia Label. Another track from the project “Golden Gun” was previously released as a single (link below). That track (like the LP title) is a nod to the 90’s gaming systems he loves and this one in particular by Sega’s Golden Gun (aka China’s House Of The Dead).

Retro gaming meets professional mic rippers for a new single. Great Neck, NY’s AWOL Da Mindwriter continues his audio partnership with August Fanon (Mach Hommy, Vic Spencer) for “Chaos Control.” A reference to a Sega Dreamcast early 90’s classic, Sonic Adventure 2 the high velocity bars are amplified with guest appearance from underground legend, Planet Asia (and cuts by DJ Pinn).. Speaking on the link-up AWOL said “Chaos Control was a power-up in the Sonic universe used for battle. I view this track as a blood-sport with two emcees making other emcees not wanna reckon with us.”
