NOAH’s “MOVE YA BODY” Sits At The Meeting Point Of Several Worlds
A London birth, an upbringing in Ethiopia and a return to London give NOAH a background that already crosses borders. His new single extends that idea into the music itself.
“MOVE YA BODY” draws from Brazilian funk, amapiano, gqom and EDM, bringing several dance traditions into the same track. The combination is significant less because of the number of genres involved than because NOAH treats them as ingredients in one current pop record.
His Ethiopian heritage remains an important part of the picture, but the single does not present itself as a statement about identity. Instead, those influences sit alongside electronic production and a chant-driven vocal, creating a record aimed at a broad dance audience.
That makes the release an interesting introduction to NOAH. Rather than presenting one fixed version of his sound, “MOVE YA BODY” shows an artist willing to move between styles and pull different rhythmic ideas into the same space.
The song’s message is equally open. Dancing, confidence and enjoying life are themes that do not require much translation, which suits a record drawing from music with strong communal traditions.
The result is a release that connects NOAH’s personal background with a much wider musical landscape. “MOVE YA BODY” does not try to pin him down to one scene or one genre. Instead, it offers a glimpse of an artist building his sound from several places at once.
