Pawel Jaworski Wins Four IBJJF Gold Medals in Eight Days After Historic ADCC Title Run

ADCC world champion Pawel Jaworski won four IBJJF gold medals in eight days, including double gold at the Pan No-Gi Championship in New Jersey.

Polish grappling star Pawel Jaworski has continued his remarkable 2026 campaign, collecting four IBJJF gold medals in just eight days after winning the under-88kg division at the ADCC World Championship in September.

Jaworski added another double-gold performance at the Lisbon International Open No-Gi on October 10, winning both the heavyweight and open-class divisions. The result came just days after he secured gold in his division and the open class at the 2026 IBJJF Pan No-Gi Championship, held October 2–4 in Secaucus, New Jersey.

At the Lisbon event, Jaworski defeated Matheus Medeiros Paiva of Nous Dojo to claim heavyweight gold before going on to win the open-class division, where super-heavyweight winner Luuk van Nieuwamerongen took silver. His decision to compete at heavyweight was particularly notable, as he normally builds his no-gi campaign around the medium-heavyweight division — the class where he won his Pan No-Gi gold in New Jersey.

The run follows Jaworski’s landmark victory at the 2026 ADCC World Championship in Kraków, Poland, where he became the first Polish grappler to win an ADCC world title. He defeated Sweden’s Marlon Tajik in the final in front of a home crowd at Tauron Arena, after three consecutive leg-lock submissions carried him through the bracket.

Jaworski is particularly known for his leg-lock game, including heel hooks and the entries used to create submission opportunities — a game he has also taken to ONE Championship, where he submitted Rafael Lovato Jr. at ONE Fight Night 47 in September.

Next up, he is listed for the IBJJF European No-Gi Championship in Lido di Ostia, Italy, later in October, where he is expected to return to medium-heavyweight competition.

Action from the 2026 ADCC World Championship in Krakow, Poland.

The 2026 ADCC World Championship in Kraków, Poland delivered history, a stack of new champions, and a strong showing for the United States and Europe — with Scotland’s Mark Macqueen reaching the podium in front of a European crowd.

Brazil’s Felipe Pena became the first person in ADCC history to win the absolute bracket twice, beating Roosevelt Sousa in the final. In the championship superfight, Yuri Simoes defeated Kaynan Duarte by submission after Duarte appeared to injure his shoulder in overtime.

American star Helena Crevar continued her takeover of the women’s divisions, submitting Anabel Lopez in the +65kg final to add ADCC gold to her growing collection. Fellow American Paige Ivette Clymer took bronze in the same division, submitting Elizabeth Mitrovic in 1:52 in the bronze-medal match. The USA also picked up silver medals through PJ Barch (-77kg) and Gavin Corbe (-66kg), while Austin-based Luke Griffith won his first ADCC world title at -99kg.

Europe enjoyed its strongest ADCC showing on record. Host nation Poland celebrated its first ADCC champion as Pawel Jaworski won the -88kg title with three straight leg-lock submissions on his way to the final, and Scotland’s Mark Macqueen claimed bronze in the +99kg division behind champion Victor Hugo and silver medalist Josh Saunders.

ADCC disqualified both fighters and banned each for one year, with Olivarez’s father and coach suspended for two years.
