Pep Love (Hiero) announces physical only project and drops “Generous” (video)
“It is difficult to peg him as an artist from any one region. The multifaceted topics and style he uses keeps the listener interested.”-Okayplayer
Oakland, California’s mighty Hieroglyphics Crew has announced the release of a new Pep Love album (through their own Hiero Imperium label). Acres Of Diamonds, to drop on 11/21 (via link below), will be a solely physical release (on vinyl and cassette format) for the collectors and the connoisseurs. Speaking on the physical only decision for this album, Pep relayed “this album is meant for the collectors and music connoisseurs, the enthusiasts willing to buy it, play for their friends and spread through their own tight-knit community. People who need to be spoon-fed new music may miss out, and I am completely okay with that.”
With this announcement is a drop of a video for “Generous” which appears on the album.

The album title and art is about finding enrichment in common places, discovering diamonds in the dirt, tarnished or otherwise within your daily life and polishing or reclaiming them. The album is mostly self-produced, though with contributions from legendary Bay Area producer Bedrock (E-40, Mistah FAB, The Jacka), who adds to the sonic landscape by producing several tracks as well as co-producing several more with Pep, while Nefarious! (Soul Dojo) contributes production on the track “Inevitable.”
