Rainer Ild Shares New Single ‘Honky’

Published

on

The boundary-pushing artist Rainer Ild is renowned for his innovative approach to music and returns with his thought-provoking single ‘Honky’.

Rainer Ild is a composer who keeps pushing the limits of artistic expression. He has a bachelor’s degree in music and a varied portfolio of compositions for theatre, commercials, and movies.

This pop song’s engaging melody and insightful lyrics entice listeners to go on a voyage of reflection and self-discovery. With his fascinating performances, Rainer Ild captivates listeners with his unique musical skills and powerful stage presence.

‘Honky’ began as a joke, compared to the rest of Rainer Ild’s songs and album. He intentionally created a different release as his forthcoming album will be a bit of chaos. It started from a random pipe tapping his colleague did. He pulled his phone out, recorded a voice memo, laughed, and told his workmate that he was going to make a song out of that. He went home and fooled around with it never thinking that it would amount to anything. When Rainer Ild did a listening event for his friends and some music critics where he played approximately 25 songs, ‘Honky’ received the best feedback.

The ‘Honky’ music video, which was directed by the well-known directors Roland Abel and Raoul Kirsima, presents a bizarre and provocative visual depiction of the song’s themes. Rainer Ild invites spectators to go into the depths of their awareness by immersing himself in a universe where fact and imagination collide, relinquishing creative authority to the filmmakers. “Some people might think that we crossed every limit of decency with the Honky video – quite possible,” Roland Abel hints at the audacious nature of the video.

“‘Honky’ is more than just a song; it’s a poignant commentary on the façade of modern life. Rainer Ild delves into the themes of superficiality and self-importance, highlighting the absurdity of taking ourselves too seriously. In a world where authenticity is often obscured by pretense, ‘Honky’ serves as a reminder that we are all flawed individuals, navigating our way through life’s complexities,” Rainer Ild comments on the release.

Host Bodies’ track ‘On A Roll’ Gets a Psychedelic Reinvention from Soul Glitch

Published

Ten years after Host Bodies first released the album Daily Apparatus, “On A Roll” has found a completely new groove.

For the Daily Apparatus: 10 Year Remixes project, multi-instrumentalist and producer Nicholas Hasty, under his Soul Glitch moniker, takes the original electronic-rock track and pulls it into deeper, more psychedelic territory.

The remix keeps the energy of Host Bodies intact while opening up the track with new beats, electronic textures and expressive saxophone solos. Electric guitar, bass and layered production give it a rich, genre-blurring sound that sits somewhere between indie electronic, jazztronica, soultronica and alternative dance.

There’s something particularly satisfying about hearing a decade-old track treated not as a relic, but as raw material. Soul Glitch reshapes “On A Roll” , finding new spaces within the original and bringing his own musical language into the mix.

The result is energetic, sensual, psychedelic and unapologetically expansive.

Ten years on, “On A Roll” proves that sometimes the best way to celebrate where a song came from is to find somewhere completely new for it to go.
