Soundrun Drop A Gritty Rock Stomper With “Back in my hood”

Published

on

Soundrun aren’t here to play it safe. The Finnish trio’s new single “Back in my hood” is loud, lean, and locked in from the first riff. It’s a track that punches with purpose, built on thick guitar grooves and a driving rhythm section that doesn’t let up. If you like your rock with dirt under its nails and just enough swagger to feel lived-in, this one delivers.

The band have a knack for taking simple ideas and turning them into something powerful. This song actually started with an acoustic guitar tuned down in a weird way – the A string to G – which gave them the foundation for the main riff. From there, the rest came naturally. The bass and drums slide in with just the right amount of weight, and Hannu Jääskeläinen’s vocals have that raspy conviction that makes you believe every word.

Lyrically, “Back in my hood” taps into a familiar yet satisfying theme: returning home after a long road, scarred but sharper. It’s about experience, mistakes, and coming back stronger, summed up nicely in the line “I’ve got some new tricks up my sleeve.” There’s no overthinking or overproduction here. It’s just a solid rock tune built to hit hard and hold up live.

Soundrun know what they’re doing – and they’re doing it very well.

Prymrr

Artist Prymrr returns tomorrow, October 6, 2026, with her powerful new single "Sick Of It," accompanied by an official music video that brings the song's themes of frustration, intensity, and breaking free. "Sick Of It" captures the feeling of reaching a breaking point and finally refusing to hold back. With an emotionally charged sound and Prymrr's unmistakable energy, the track transforms frustration into empowerment an anthem for anyone who has ever reached the point of saying, enough is enough.

The official music video takes a cinematic and immersive approach, utilizing a one-shot filming style inspired by the visual intensity and continuous-shot storytelling of Netflix's Adolescence. The uninterrupted camera movement creates an intimate, immediate experience, drawing viewers directly into Prymrr's world as the story unfolds. Visually, the video establishes a distinctive atmosphere through a black-and-white foundation, subtle muted earthy tones, and carefully placed pops of red. The restrained palette creates a raw, moody aesthetic, while the flashes of red heighten the emotion and intensity of key moments.

The release will also be followed by a special dance concept video, coming soon. The concept video features dancers from the hometown studio where Prymrr danced as a child, creating a meaningful full circle moment that connects her early dance roots with her evolution as an artist. The visual will also incorporate dancers from the studio, adding a personal touch and nod to the place where her journey began.

Choreographed by Dez Penn, the dance concept transforms "Sick Of It" into movement, using choreography to express the song's themes of tension, frustration, strength, and release. Bringing together dancers from Prymrr's hometown studio Penn Point Dance Academy makes the project especially personal, celebrating the foundation that helped shape her as a performer.

Together, the song, official music video, and upcoming dance concept present different sides of the same story: reaching your limit, confronting what has been holding you back, and just finding the strength. "Sick Of It" is about that moment when you stop explaining yourself and realize you've had enough," says Prymrr. "It's taking everything you've been holding in and finally letting it out."

"Sick Of It" and the official music video are out October 6, 2026, on all major streaming platforms and YouTube. The dance concept video is coming soon.
