BIBC And Gallileo Redefine What It Means To “Soft Launch” A Relationship
Everyone knows what a “soft launch” is by now – a hint on the feed, a cropped photo, a mysterious emoji. But BIBC and Gallileo take that idea and flip it into something more personal on their new single “soft launch.”
The track feels like a late-night message that turned into a song. It’s playful, romantic, and just a little mysterious. Gallileo opens with clever lines that dance between bravado and vulnerability, his delivery smooth enough to make you believe every word. When BIBC enters, the energy shifts. His multilingual verse feels like a coded conversation between cultures – part flirtation, part statement of identity.
Sonically, “soft launch” hits a sweet spot between dancehall, R&B, and electronic textures. The band shares, “‘Breathe’ speaks to all no matter your background. With emotional choruses and guitar-driven melodies, this song encapsulates the yearning nature of loss. You always want what you can’t have, so just breathe again.” They add, “This was one of the first songs we ever wrote. It details longing for a person no longer in your life. Whether that be romantic or platonic, the consuming desire for this person to just ‘breathe your name again’ is simple but will seemingly fix it all.”
“Breathe” is the first taste of more new music to come for the group, comprised of Griffin Vail (vocals), Jack Lambeth (drums), Jack Poncy (guitar), and Luke Hill (bass).
The band will play a special hometown Halloween show at Sundown at Granada in Dallas on October 30 — their first show with original music out in the world. Their most recent show at the venue sold out, and they now hold the all-time attendance record there. Tickets for their Halloween return are on sale now.
