Elle Limebear Makes History at Decca Records — and Drops “Give Me Joy”

Decca Records has been home to legends for nearly a century. Now the legendary British label has signed its first contemporary Christian artist — and her name is Elle Limebear.

The Brighton-based singer-songwriter and worship leader marked the signing by releasing her first Decca single, “Give Me Joy,” the same day. The song reimagines the British hymn “Oil In My Lamp,” building new verses and melodies around its chorus — and it had already become a standout moment in her live set at the UK’s Satellites Festival before it ever reached a studio.

The signing follows Limebear’s independently released album Welcome to the Bloodline, which caught the attention of Decca’s A&R team. She brings serious momentum with her: more than 150 million streams globally, a No. 1 on the Billboard Christian Airplay chart, a GMA Dove Award nomination for New Artist of the Year, a performance at London’s Royal Albert Hall and sold-out UK headline tours.

A worship artist opening a new chapter at one of Britain’s most storied labels — “Give Me Joy” is exactly the right title for it.
