Jordan Coyle and Cordiamo Win the $100,000 Grand Prix de Penn National in Harrisburg
Jordan Coyle closed out his week at the 80th Pennsylvania National Horse Show the way he spent it: winning. The Irish rider and Cordiamo captured the $100,000 Grand Prix de Penn National on Saturday night in the Harrisburg Coliseum.
From a starting field of 29 over a course designed by Bernardo Costa Cabral, eight pairs advanced to the jump-off. Filip de Wandel and Strongbeau set the time to beat at 38.725 seconds — and then Coyle blew it away, crossing the timers in 31.758 to win by nearly four seconds. Gustavo Xavier Cortez and Action T took second in 35.602, with de Wandel holding third.
It completed a sweep of the week’s two biggest jumper classes for Coyle, who had also won Thursday’s $30,000 1.40m Welcome with the 10-year-old Oldenburg gelding, owned by Elan Farm. Cordiamo was also named the 1.40m Jumper Champion, and Coyle received the Harrisburg Kiwanis Club Challenge Trophy.
“I know he’s a fast horse,” said Coyle, who has had Cordiamo since the gelding was 3. “He’s not going to touch them. There is a big future with him for sure. He’s very careful, he’s very competitive. If I do a good job, I think he’ll jump five-star grand prix competitively.”
The win wrapped the open jumper competition at the 80th edition of the Pennsylvania National Horse Show, held October 8-18 at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex.

Olympic Riders Headline the 68th Washington International Horse Show, October 19-25
Seven days of world-class horse sport are underway in the Washington, D.C. area, as the 68th annual Washington International Horse Show runs October 19-25 at The Show Place Arena in Upper Marlboro, Maryland — with five of the world’s top 10 riders in the field.
The week’s headline event is World Cup Night on Saturday, October 24, when Olympic stars and international champions contest the $340,000 Longines FEI Jumping World Cup Washington CSI5*-W for the President’s Cup at 8:30 p.m. Defending winner Laura Kraut, who won in 2025 aboard Tres Bien Z, goes for a third victory in the class. WIHS is one of only five U.S. qualifying events for the FEI World Cup Finals, set for March 2027 in Göteborg, Sweden.
The nights leading up to it are stacked, too. Opening Night on Thursday, October 22 salutes military personnel, first responders and teachers, with the $63,000 Welcome Stake and $63,000 Stars and Stripes Speed Stake — and 50% off tickets for those who serve, using code USA2026. Friday’s MARS Barn Night brings the $63,000 Accumulator Costume Class and the fan-favorite Shetland Pony Steeplechase Championship. Saturday opens with a free Kids’ Day — pony rides, face painting and a pony kissing booth — before the Ambassador’s Cup Grand Prix CSI2*.
Daytime admission is free every day and parking is free, making one of North America’s most prestigious horse shows one of its most welcoming. Evening tickets are at wihs.org.
