Late Night Feelings Returns With Incredible New Project In Your Dreams
Late Night Feelings’ new EP In Your Dreams is a tender, hypnotic exploration of the thin veil between reality and the subconscious. Karan Naik, the Brooklyn-born, New Jersey-based artist behind the moniker, has always had a gift for writing intimate, late-hour pop. This six-track project deepens that signature bedroom-pop world with a cohesive emotional gaze into love, loss, and the nebulous in-between.
From the shimmering production to the soft, whispered vocals, In Your Dreams feels like stepping into a lucid reverie. The standout single “Heartstopper” perfectly encapsulates the EP’s emotional centre. With lyrics like “Got the words on the tip of my tongue … I just wanna know what’s next,” Naik balances hope and vulnerability. The chorus swells with earnest longing: “My heartstopper … feeling on top of the world … come and run away with me.” There’s a cinematic quality here, as if two people are dancing beneath starry skies, suspended in a moment that could end at sunrise.
Lyrically, Naik leans into raw honesty without ever resorting to melodrama. Lines about dancing in moonlight, losing track of time, and wishing to freeze the moment feel deeply personal and universally relatable. The bridge of “Heartstopper”, “Wish we could stay in this moment forever / It feels so new”, captures that bittersweet urge to hold on even while knowing nothing lasts.
While the EP pivots between hopeful energy and reflective melancholy, it never loses its sense of cohesion. Karan’s voice remains calm and reassuring, like a friend sharing half-remembered dreams in the dark. In Your Dreams is a beautiful project from a new name, and in its stillness and honesty it stakes a claim for Late Night Feelings as one of pop’s most emotionally resonant emerging voices. Whether you’re lying awake at 3 a.m. or simply craving music that feels like a soft conversation, this EP is worth slowing down for.
