Rising R&B/Pop artist Nina Browwn returns with her bold new single, “Unavailable,” a powerful anthem about protecting one’s time, energy, and emotional space. Blending smooth R&B melodies with pop sensibility and subtle reggae influences, the track delivers a message of self-respect and intentional living in an increasingly noisy world.

At its core, “Unavailable” speaks to the experience of stepping away from relationships and situations that offer little value. While the song references a romantic connection with someone who wastes her time, its message reaches much deeper. Browwn explains that the track is ultimately about choosing not to engage with anything — or anyone — that drains energy without contributing something meaningful in return.

“‘Unavailable’ is about being unavailable not just to a guy who is wasting my time,” Browwn says, “but also to the things and people that bring no real value into my life. It’s about creating genuine connections rather than surface-level interactions that become liabilities instead of positives. It’s about being unbothered by all the noise.”

Hailing from Toronto, Browwn’s musical journey began early. By the age of 10, she had already begun studying multiple instruments, including the flute, guitar, and piano. At 16, she expanded her training into classical opera through formal voice lessons — a discipline she continues today to maintain the remarkable quality and range of her voice, which spans more than three and a half octaves.

Her unique sound reflects a deep appreciation for musical diversity. Browwn effortlessly blends R&B and pop foundations with touches of reggae, creating a style that is both fresh and soulful. Among her biggest inspirations are legendary vocalists and songwriters such as Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Alicia Keys, and Adele.

In addition to her vocal abilities, Browwn is also a dedicated songwriter whose creative instincts emerged early in life. As a child, she found a natural outlet in creative writing classes, where she developed a love for storytelling and emotional expression through words.

At just 12 years old, she wrote her first complete song, “Now You’re Gone.” With the help of her middle school music teacher, she added chords and performed the song at her school’s talent show. Although nervous at first, Browwn quickly found her confidence on stage.

“Often times I think back to that little girl who was terrified on stage with butterflies in her stomach,” Browwn recalls. “At first I felt like I couldn’t breathe, but then I saw all those faces smiling at me and I knew this was where I belonged.”

Her musical roots also run deep within her family. Browwn credits much of her inspiration to her maternal grandmother, who possessed a beautiful singing voice and was invited to perform on radio in the early 1950s in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, where Browwn was born.

Today, Browwn channels personal experiences into her songwriting, allowing her music to resonate authentically with listeners.

“Many of my songs come from personal experiences I’ve lived through,” she explains. “It’s the best way for me to connect with the music and for people to connect with the message, because it’s something real.”
