one far sun Delivers Masterful Tune ‘hello old friend’
With a completely new look and sound, one far sun, the captivating all-female band based in the UK, is back on the scene, rekindling their love with gritty guitars, grand dramatic strings, and lush vocal harmonies. Their amazing return, which follows a ten-year break, heralds a new and thrilling chapter in their musical journey, one that is sure to win over hearts and stir souls once again.
In 2012, one far sun bid adieu to the stage and the little theatres of their Australian upbringing, embarking on international travel, exploring a range of careers, and embracing parenting. But a chance encounter prompted by the cosiness of red wine, the nostalgia of old albums, and reflective, late-night conversations about the powerful and unadulterated joy of creativity revived their love. Motivated by these priceless recollections, the trio decided to pick up their musical endeavours again, launching an exciting new chapter.
Returning with their latest offering ‘hello old friend’, one far sun is showcasing their craft in a stronger style than ever before. With a strong vocal performance enhanced by melodic layers, the track combines the raw guitars with the distinct, melancholic tones of a solo cello and the expressive pull of violins, all supported by deep electronic sub-bass textures and elaborate sonic flourishes, over an alt-pop and folk production.
“‘hello old friend’ is our love song to Australia, capturing the bittersweet bond between ex-pats and their homeland. With soaring vocal harmonies and haunting cello, ‘hello old friend’ reflects the complexities of leaving behind a once cherished relationship. We hope it resonates with anyone who has felt the tug of war between longing and liberation.”

EMEREE’s Cinematic Pivot in ‘Eyesore’ from Pop Star to Pop Assassin

EMEREE doesn’t just make music—she curates moments. Her latest single “Eyesore” is a cinematic, sarcastic scorcher that sets a new tone for the rising Australian powerhouse. From the candy-coated production to the horror-tinged DIY music video, EMEREE is creating her own genre: camp pop noir.
The single is a masterclass in balancing artistry with attitude. Co-created with Christian Tjandrawinata, “Eyesore” proves EMEREE isn’t here to play safe. She plays sharp, with razor-lined harmonies and lyricism that stabs with a smile. It’s not just catchy—it’s calculated. The beat bounces, the vocals glide, but it’s the burn in the lines that lingers.
Visually, EMEREE doubles down. The music video is a bloody wink to 80s slasher films, with a narrative as satirical as it is symbolic. She doesn’t just kill her ex on screen—she kills the whole trope. Pop stars often tell stories of heartbreak. EMEREE turns it into performance art.
EMEREE says, “Eyesore” is the anthem for anyone who’s ever dated someone who treated them horribly and just wasn’t hot enough to get away with it.”
EMEREE is making noise for all the right reasons—and with creative backing from CAA and sessions alongside Nile Rodgers and Invisible Men, she’s not just rising. She’s plotting her pop empire. “Eyesore” is both a warning shot and a love letter to anyone who’s ever made revenge their aesthetic.
It’s the start of something bold—and we’re already obsessed.
