Rising Star Soleil Shines in “Rubbish” Music Video

New York native singer-songwriter and DJ Soleil fed listeners’ hearts and souls with “Heart Strings.” The silky soulful record was met with much acclaim. The songstress continues the momentum with a new R&B/Soul single, “Rubbish.” “Rubbish” is stylistically in the same vein as “Heart Strings,” but it leans more into Blues and Funk. Soleil’s velvety, impassioned vocals are put on full display.
“Rubbish” is an empowering breakup anthem that places great emphasis on reclamation, self-love and self-worth. The vulnerable yet brazen song masterfully utilizes introspective/extrospective and tongue-in-cheek lyrics to deliver a palpable, resonating message/story. “The song is about waking up to the lies that we convince ourselves to believe; what begins as a story of unconditional love and loyalty unravels into the realization that empty promises, mixed signals, and emotional neglect were never love at all.” Soleil continues: “‘Rubbish’ captures the moment that self-doubt transforms into self-respect. It is about taking out the emotional trash, reclaiming your voice, and refusing to carry someone else’s nonsense any longer.”
The accompanying music video for “Rubbish” elevates the song’s cinematic tone. The visual’s golden-hued landscape harmonizes perfectly with the Retro Soul soundscape. The video, directed by illustrious filmmaker Riccardo Solorzano, features Soleil on set and performing while also depicting her on television screens. The mesmerizing, chic music video oozes assured confidence.

LAURA SCAGLIA BRINGS PARIS TO LIFE WITH NEW SINGLE “PARIS” ON NOVEMBER 20
Swiss-Italian singer transforms a melancholic composition into an energetic, cinematic rock journey through the City of Light.
International singer and performer Laura Scaglia is set to release “Paris,” a vibrant, cinematic rock track celebrating the mythology, freedom and larger-than-life spirit of the French capital.
Originally written by Richie Marston, a friend of executive producer Peter Mckenzie and musician, producer, Michael Muller, the song was conceived as a melancholic ballad. After Marston sadly passed away in December 2025, Mckenzie suggested Muller revisited the composition. Michael transformed it into an energetic, forward-driving rock song that contrasts its reflective lyrics with an explosive musical arrangement.
Rather than telling a traditional love story, “Paris” makes the city itself the main character. From sidewalk cafés and Cognac to artists painting on the Left Bank, the Louvre and the Eiffel Tower, the song captures Paris through the eyes of an outsider fascinated by its beauty, freedom and possibility.
The chorus adds a playful twist with the repeated declaration that “Paris is passé,” while the narrator remains captivated by the city. One of the song’s most striking lines describes the paintings in the Louvre and the view from the Eiffel Tower as “the closest things to love I ever knew,” connecting love not to romance, but to art, beauty and experience.
The song’s transatlantic spirit is reflected in its creation: a Paris-inspired composition written by an American, reimagined by a New York producer, performed by Swiss-Italian artist Laura Scaglia and recorded with New York musicians in Brooklyn.
Known for her powerful voice, contagious energy and magnetic stage presence, Laura brings a unique international perspective to the track. Trilingual in French, English and Italian, she has built a career spanning music, live performance and film.
Laura began her professional career between New York City and Toronto, later participating in Swiss emerging-artist programs including La Gustav and Helvetia Rockt – Female Band Workshops. She has performed at major venues and festivals including the Montreux Jazz Festival, while her 2024 multidisciplinary concept album The Rise earned 17 international festival selections and three awards.
Her voice has also been featured in The Fuse, a film that qualified for the 2024 Oscars. In 2025, Laura returned to New York to record the two tracks that form her forthcoming EP ”Wherever I Land”.
With “Paris,” Laura Scaglia transforms the City of Light into a spirited musical postcard — proving that, despite what anyone says, Paris is anything but passé.
