Rosanne Baker Thornley Releases New Single ”Falling”
Following the deeply resonant presence she established with her acclaimed album ‘Sorry I’m Late’, award-winning Canadian singer songwriter Rosanne Baker Thornley continues her journey with the release of her new single, “Falling”.
The song is rooted in that sometimes the greatest form of love is not rescue – but presence. Layered with lyrical depth and understated intensity, “Falling” speaks to friendship, vulnerability and to the quiet power of simply being there for someone when life unravels. It offers listeners a place of reassurance and understanding.
Blending sophisticated singer-songwriter craftsmanship with immersive sonic detail, “Falling” sits in a lineage of Artists and timeless work that balances intimacy with emotional scope. Echoes of Carole King and James Taylor, meet the lyrical sensitivity of Joni Mitchell, the atmospheric grace of Sarah McLachlan, and the contemporary depth of Bon Iver, and Phoebe Bridgers.
Rosanne’s ability to create songs that feel both grounded and transportive has become a defining hallmark of her work. There is a cinematic quality to her writing and production – music that does not simply accompany emotion, but carries the listener through it. Ethereal yet rooted, ambient yet lyrically direct, “Falling” invites listeners into an experience that feels both deeply personal and universally human all at once. With “Falling”, she continues to deepen her body of work with meaningful storytelling, and yet another song that lingers long after the final note …

Son Stone Explores Youth, Temptation, and Nostalgia on New Single “Memory of Sugar,” Out July 9, 2026
A bold, coming-of-age tale showcases a different side of the acclaimed singer-songwriter.
July 2, 2026 – Singer-songwriter Son Stone will release his new single, “Memory of Sugar,” on July 9, 2026, offering listeners an imaginative departure from his usual body of work. Blending coming-of-age storytelling with a touch of young-adult fantasy, the song explores innocence, temptation, and the unforgettable experiences that shape us.
At the heart of “Memory of Sugar” is a simple yet engaging narrative: a young man living on his own for the first time finds himself swept into an unexpected encounter with an older, confident woman. Told with humor and warmth, the song embraces the fantasy of youthful curiosity while leaving the details to the listener’s imagination. Although the lyrics remain free of explicit language, the story’s suggestive themes add an intriguing layer to the narrative.
Musically, “Memory of Sugar” stands apart through Son Stone’s use of an open-tuned guitar in DADADE tuning, creating a rich, resonant sound that complements the song’s reflective mood and vivid storytelling. The distinctive tuning gives the recording a unique sonic character while highlighting Stone’s nuanced guitar work.
Originally written in 2014, “Memory of Sugar” was recorded in December 2022, but remained unreleased for several years. Stone admits he hesitated to share the track because it differs significantly from the rest of his catalog and ventures into more provocative territory than his listeners might expect.
“This song has been sitting on my hard drive for years because I wasn’t sure if I wanted to release it,” says Stone. “It’s a little risqué, a little playful, and definitely different from what I usually write. But after living with it for so long, I realized it deserved to find its audience.”
Known for thoughtful songwriting and distinctive acoustic arrangements, Son Stone continues to follow his creative instincts rather than expectations. “Memory of Sugar” demonstrates his willingness to explore new perspectives while maintaining the craftsmanship and authenticity that define his music.
“Memory of Sugar” will be available on all major streaming platforms beginning July 9, 2026.
