With their new six-track EP Movements In Hope, they’ve gone beyond simply merging technology with artistry — they’ve sculpted a project that feels like a memory archive beamed from a parallel timeline, one where cultures and genres intermingle without borders and the future has a pulse you can dance to.

Opener “Tears of Joy” sets the tone with Afro-Swing warmth, but there’s a bittersweet shimmer embedded in its rhythm. The track follows a teenager travelling to Africa to meet her grandparents — not through narrative lyrics, but through sound design that feels like it’s breathing. SonicNeuron uses Synthetic AI to stretch and bend vocal textures in a way that simulates nostalgia without faking it. The result is a track that feels both feather-light and emotionally heavy, the way reunions often are.

The EP pivots sharply into “Wisteria”, a Dance-Pop/Electro-House number that mirrors the sway of its titular Middle Eastern dancer. This is SonicNeuron at their most playful: chopped percussive accents flutter like the petals of the wisteria tree, while synths dip and rise with a grace that’s more choreography than composition. Closer “10k Miles” is the most ambitious track, functioning like a world-music travelogue hopping from London to Tokyo through Dubai and Chennai. It’s expansive yet cohesive, stitched together with melodic motifs that evolve as the imaginary journey unfolds.
