The Wait Is Almost Over: Original Koffee Confirms Long-Awaited Second Album for November 2026
The wait has an end date. Koffee, now performing as Original Koffee, has confirmed that her sophomore studio album will arrive in November 2026. The title, exact release date, tracklist and featured artists have not yet been revealed — but the confirmation itself closes one of the longest-running questions in modern reggae.
The word came around her performance at Summerjam 2026 in Germany — her first return to the festival in seven years — in a post-performance interview captured by Reggaeville. Her set was described as epic, reminding fans of the force she was when she first broke through, and the new-album confirmation gave the comeback a headline to travel with.
The new album will be her first full-length project since Gifted, released March 25, 2022 via Promised Land Recordings and Columbia Records — a gap of more than four years between albums. DancehallMag reports she is expected to carry forward her signature blend of reggae, dancehall and contemporary production on the new record.
The résumé behind the anticipation is short and historic. Born Mikayla Victoria Simpson on February 16, 2000 in Spanish Town, Jamaica, Koffee broke through with “Toast” in 2018 and won Best Reggae Album at the 2020 Grammy Awards with her Rapture EP — becoming the youngest artist and the first woman ever to win the category. She is a self-taught guitarist who picked up the instrument at 12, works in a “sing-jay” style, and has drawn co-signs from Drake and Usain Bolt.
She has not been silent in the meantime. Her recent output under the Original Koffee name includes the 2025 single “Koffee” and “Rapid Fyah,” a collaboration with Skillibeng that drew strong fan praise. November now gets the full statement: her second album, four years on from Gifted, from an artist who made Grammy history before she could legally drink in the United States.
