This Week in ACC Field Hockey: Title Race Comes Down to the Final Weekend
With just two days remaining in the Atlantic Coast Conference field hockey regular season, three teams – Duke, North Carolina and Wake Forest – remain in contention for a share of the ACC title. A slate of traditional rivalries throughout the league will also feature high-stakes implications for the 2026 ACC Field Hockey Championship, which begins on Tuesday, November 3, in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
On Thursday, October 29, long-time West Coast rivals California and Stanford get the ACC’s final weekend underway. Stanford will host the No. 17 Golden Bears for the respective regular-season finales, beginning at 9 p.m. ET on ACCNX. Boston College and No. 13 Syracuse open the Friday, October 30, slate with a 4 p.m. ET push back on ACCNX. Following the Eagles and Orange, No. 7 Wake Forest will host Louisville at 5 p.m. ET on ACCNX. Duke and North Carolina will wrap up the ACC’s regular-season schedule at 6 p.m. ET on Friday on ACC Network. The No. 10 Tar Heels will make the trip to Durham, North Carolina, to battle No. 6 Duke with the winner earning at least a share of the ACC regular-season championship.
A win for Duke would make the Blue Devils the outright regular-season champions, while a North Carolina win would make the rivals ACC regular-season co-champions. However, if both North Carolina defeats Duke and Wake Forest beats Louisville, the Blue Devils, Tar Heels and Demon Deacons will each have a share of the ACC regular-season championship.
