Fusing the sounds of different countries and cultures, the track features representation from Australia, Nigeria, Italy, the US, the UK and Argentina.

“Supporting independent music is important to me, and I want this song to showcase the artists’ talents” explains DJ K-Wale. “The song title emphasises this and also states that there is no competing with our talent”.

“No Competition” is DJ K-Wale’s first release of 2023, with more new music to follow later in the year.

ABOUT DJ K-WALE:

DJ K-Wale is a London-based artist with West African Roots. He produces hip-hop and dubstep music and is a founding member of EBI Records, an organisation that works with and supports independent artists in the local community. His father was a DJ and is his main influence.
As well as releasing music independently, he has also collaborated with gaming company Ubisoft to provide music for Watch Dogs Legion and Beyond Good and Evil 2.

He is a major supporter of artist rights and believes in helping new artists find their feet in the music industry and helping them to collaborate with others to build long-lasting business relationships. DJ K-Wale released his first EP in October 2022 and is currently honing his craft and planning to go on tour.

ABOUT HONEY-B-SWEET:

“Feel the beat, let the rhythm take control. I’m all about that music life, baby!”

As a songwriter and lyricist, Honey-B-Sweet is driven by the power of words. From a young age, she has been obsessed with crafting the perfect rhymes and wordplay. The greats like 2PAC, Ice Cube, and Dr. Dre were early inspirations, but it was the fierce female artists like Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, and Cardi B who showed her that a woman can run the game just as hard. Her goal as a musician is to create music that motivates, empowers, and gets you hyped, no matter the subject matter.

ABOUT MICA FRANCO:

Argentinian singer/songwriter Mica Franco is a professional who has been studying singing for over 12 years. With experience in a wide variety of musical genres including rock, jazz, soul, r&b, funk, blues, pop, as well as being a backing vocalist, she began releasing music officially in 2022.

Her latest single “En Control” was released in September 2022 and is available to stream/download worldwide.

ABOUT KING CRIS:

King Cris (Cristopher Lewis) is a rapper, singer-songwriter, and audio engineer from Southern California. He is known best for his unique stylistic approach to songwriting. From telling stories, to creating scenarios from pure feelings of the soul, he intends to push the narrative of rap, R&B, and Neo Soul in an entirely new direction.

He was drawn to the culture of hip hop within the basketball community at high school, inspired by artists like Drake, J. Cole, Logic, Cordae, and Childish Gambino. As his interest in the genre became more apparent, a late night freestyle with his cousin and brothers convinced him to dive into the creation of music and explore the technology behind audio engineering.

He began releasing music in 2018 with a series of experimental singles that were created from an iPhone 6. Continuing to establish his identity in the rap scene in 2019, the string of singles was concluded with the release of his first mixtape ‘20K’, which he dedicated to his late grandmother.
