Dragon Denim Opens Its First Store at Atlanta’s Ponce City Market

Dragon Denim has opened its first physical store at Ponce City Market in Atlanta, marking the online-first brand’s move into brick-and-mortar retail.

Designer Rayna Lee Parks launched Dragon Denim in 2018 after gaining attention online for adding hand-painted artwork to a thrifted denim jacket. She developed the project into a business and sold her designs through Citizen Supply at Ponce City Market — the shared retail space that has helped many Atlanta small businesses get their start.

“Dragon Denim was born as a creative project that I didn’t expect to grow into a business, so opening our first dedicated storefront is an incredibly meaningful milestone,” said Parks. “It feels exciting to continue our journey at Ponce City Market, where I started in Citizen Supply with other entrepreneurs, and now have grown into my own space.”

The new store, which opened September 26 on the second floor of the Central Food Hall next to Rhen’s Nest, operates under a short-term lease that gives the growing business flexibility. It carries ready-to-wear and custom denim jackets.

Dragon Denim describes its approach as slow fashion: jackets finished with decorative, customised details such as lace, embroidery and printed designs — each one a wearable piece of art.

Unfiltered Wisdom Launches in Los Angeles With Apparel Made for Gen X Women

Unfiltered Wisdom launched in Los Angeles with humour-driven apparel for women over 40.

A new Los Angeles brand is designing for the women fashion forgot. Unfiltered Wisdom has launched its e-commerce platform with a curated selection of humour-driven apparel and lifestyle products made specifically for women over 40.

The brand takes aim at what it calls a significant gap in the marketplace: Gen X women remain underserved by the retail and lifestyle industries despite their substantial purchasing power. Its answer is apparel with sharp humour and straightforward messaging — designs and slogans that reflect the lived experience of women in midlife, moving away from generic inspirational language in favour of wit and honesty.

“The women we serve have spent decades building careers, raising families, navigating change, and discovering who they are,” the brand said at launch. “We’ve earned our wisdom, developed a sense of humour about life, and reached a point where we’re comfortable being ourselves. Unfiltered Wisdom celebrates that confidence, individuality, and the freedom to live life on our own terms.”

The brand treats its products as more than merchandise: they are vehicles for self-expression, aimed at women who have reached the stage of life where authenticity takes priority over accommodation.
