Commenting on the creation of the track, Du Malai shared, “I heard ‘Crash’, a beat made by Namor ATL, and knew that I wanted to create a song for it. If ‘Heart Bus Despair’ is about emotional regulation, the desires journey is about seeing yourself in love. For the song ‘Desire’ I wanted to explore the hard question of loving someone in the hopes they will fulfil your needs, when really that’s an inside job not an external one.”

Dallas-based rock band Overstreet Knox today released their debut single, “Breathe,” a heartbreaking, guitar-driven track about longing for a person no longer in your life. Stream it on all digital platforms here: found.ee/breathe-ok.
The band shares, “‘Breathe’ speaks to all no matter your background. With emotional choruses and guitar-driven melodies, this song encapsulates the yearning nature of loss. You always want what you can’t have, so just breathe again.” They add, “This was one of the first songs we ever wrote. It details longing for a person no longer in your life. Whether that be romantic or platonic, the consuming desire for this person to just ‘breathe your name again’ is simple but will seemingly fix it all.”
“Breathe” is the first taste of more new music to come for the group, comprised of Griffin Vail (vocals), Jack Lambeth (drums), Jack Poncy (guitar), and Luke Hill (bass).
The band will play a special hometown Halloween show at Sundown at Granada in Dallas on October 30 — their first show with original music out in the world. Their most recent show at the venue sold out, and they now hold the all-time attendance record there. Tickets for their Halloween return are on sale now.
