Following his first album, “Broken Compass”, Ervin does not fail to enthral with a sound which is uniquely his own. Moreover, he emphasises love, grief and loss in this album which will take you on a trip to remember.

One of the highlights of “Pure and Simple” is its many collaborations with a versatile list of musicians, which give the album depth and edge. Tina Blaber’s vocals on “King and Doors” add extra dimension to the album and Aeron Z Jones’s contributions on bass, electric, and slide guitar bring newfound energy.

“Pure and Simple” finds the perfect mix between grandeur and intimacy right from beginning to end. ‘Felixstowe”, is one of the album’s best and it captures its emotional depth and employs a strong drum solo to accentuate its poignant delivery. It is stripped-back but very touching and it is a magnificent distillation of Ervin’s musical vision. “Doors” highlights Munir’s adaptability as his delicate piano playing accentuates Blaber’s harmonies and it produces a very personal feeling.

Indie rock band The Secret Radio are back with their new single, “Swimming Pool On Mars” and it is a bold, atmospheric tune that blends poetic lyrics with sweeping, cinematic soundscapes. It’s out now on all major streaming platforms and stands as a clear highlight from their newly released debut album, “Shortwave”.

Originally formed in Queens, New York back in 2006, The Secret Radio is led by English singer-songwriter Damian Fowler and it features a revolving lineup of international collaborators. Known for fusing diverse influences—from David Bowie and Radiohead to Regina Spektor—their music is a unique mix of experimental and accessible, with a clear artistic vision.

“Swimming Pool On Mars” progresses with vigour with layers of synths, violins, horns, and more rising to a lush, cinematic crescendo. The song features contributions from Bebbo (guitar), Asen Doykin (synths), JungSang Yoo (bass), and Tom Cottone (drums), with production and mixing handled by Doykin. The result is rich and textured, yet still grounded in the organic, heartfelt sound that defines the band.

Their debut album Shortwave expands on this sound even further. Alongside the single, the album features appearances from Martin Doykin (bass), Jane Kittredge (violins), Naeemah Z. Maddox (backing vocals), Dean Olsher (accordion), and Nick Vayenas (horns). Mastered by Adrian Morgan at Timeless Mastering, the project is a true team effort—one that highlights The Secret Radio’s collaborative spirit and commitment to exploration.
