Guvna B Faces Addiction and Recovery Head-On With Tenth Album “This Bed I Made”
Guvna B released his tenth studio album, “This Bed I Made,” on April 24, the most personal record of a career that has made the London rapper one of British gospel music’s defining voices. Announced in March alongside the gospel-infused lead single “Rest My Head,” the 11-track album excavates the period in which he stepped away from the spotlight to work through his own struggles.
The album explores addiction, recovery and the stigma that surrounds both, with a title that speaks to accountability: the bed he made is his to reckon with. It was co-produced by Joel Baker and Maths Time Joy, and its guest list bridges UK rap and soul, with collaborations from Frankie Stew & Harvey Gunn, Bawo, AratheJay and Claudia Isaki. The focus track “Healing Power,” featuring AratheJay, carries the record’s message of restoration. Adding a clinical lens to the personal story, the project also features reflections from renowned trauma expert Gabor Maté.
“This Bed I Made” arrived as more than an album. A short film of the same name, directed by Christoph Davis and starring Guvna B himself, translates its themes of healing and responsibility to the screen, and the rapper marked the release by hosting a special screening at the Curzon Cinema followed by a Q&A with Jordan Stephens. The music has travelled too: “Rest My Head” went on to reach No. 1 on the UK Christian & Gospel Singles Chart.
A triple MOBO Award winner for Best Gospel Act, Guvna B has spent nearly two decades putting his life and faith at the front of his music. On “This Bed I Made,” that honesty reaches its sharpest point yet, offering listeners in recovery a record that refuses to look away.

Dan Bremnes Completes His Trilogy With New Album “The Hero & The Villain”
Dan Bremnes opened 2026 by closing a chapter, releasing his new album “The Hero & The Villain” on January 16 through Curb Records. The 15-track record completes the British Columbia artist’s ambitious autobiographical trilogy, a three-album arc that has traced his story of faith with unusual honesty.
True to the way Bremnes has always worked, the album was recorded around the globe, from Costa Rica to Sweden, gathering its sound from the road he has travelled as one of Canadian Christian music’s most travelled artists. The opening track, “Started With You,” sets the tone for a record that wrestles openly with faith, anxiety, identity and vulnerability, the inner conflict promised by its title: the hero and the villain who share the same heart.
Bremnes, who hails from the Salmon Arm and Kamloops region of British Columbia, first broke through with “Where The Light Is,” which won the Juno Award for Contemporary Christian/Gospel Album of the Year in 2016. In the decade since, he has built a reputation for pairing polished pop songwriting with lyrics that refuse to tidy up the hard parts of believing.
That tension is the engine of “The Hero & The Villain.” Rather than resolving the struggle into a slogan, the album sits inside it, tracing how grace meets a person who can be faithful and faltering in the same day. As the final instalment of his trilogy, it brings Bremnes’ most personal songwriting project to its conclusion, and underlines his standing as one of the defining Canadian voices in contemporary Christian music.
