Last Train to play UK dates!

After ‘Weathering’ and ‘The Big Picture’, acclaimed Lyon-based 4-piece Last Train‘s new album is a direct reflection of raw anger. Recorded in a crumbling, unheated chateau, ‘III’ channels frustration into meticulously composed rock. Formed in the 2010s, Jean-Noël Scherrer, Julien Peultier, Timothée Gérard and Antoine Baschung gained a strong following with their first two albums and toured with Muse and Placebo. In 2024 they released ‘Original Motion Picture Soundtrack’, an orchestral reworking of their songs, but the new album marks their true return to form as a rock band. Tracks like the first two singles ‘Home’ and ‘The Plan’ combine rock energy with melody, balancing emotional depth and anger.

With ‘III’, Last Train have produced a radical and authentic third album, far from the aseptic super-productions. With ‘One by One’ – the focus track, you’ll feel right in the band’s rehearsal room: screeching feedback, punchy drums, overflowing bass and incisive choruses. Provocative as it is, the track embodies a frantic race: the train will go on, with or without us. Mature, confident and increasingly daring, these ambassadors of French rock continue their dizzying ascent, no matter how high the wall!

The band are touring Europe extensively this year in support of the album, including a headline London show and appearances at Focus Wales and The Great Escape Festival. Don’t miss the chance to catch them live in all of their glory.

Upcoming UK shows:

8.05: Focus Wales, Wrexham (20:15- Ty Pawb)

10.05: Focus Wales, Wrexham (19:25- Penny Black)

12.05: The Grace, London (Headline show)

16.05: The Great Escape, Brighton (7pm at The Wing at The Brighton Centre).

“A true mystery… It was really good! So many twists. I was hooked!” – BookishPenguin

Jara Quinn’s life changed forever in college when her parents were killed in a car accident, leaving her adrift and grieving. Determined to honor their memory, she completed her studies and found solace in the arms of Katerina Lansing, the passionate and ambitious woman who became her first love. But after graduation, life pulled them in different directions—Jara joined the FBI, driven by a need for justice, while Katerina pursued a law career, dedicated to upholding the truth. Though they stayed in touch, their relationship became a bittersweet friendship rather than the romance they once shared.

Years later, Katerina’s world is turned upside down when her father announces his bid for president and her beloved grandmother dies under suspicious circumstances after learning her Foundation was hemorrhaging money. Desperate and unsure whom to trust, Katerina reaches out to Jara for help. Reunited, the spark between them reignites while they confront the mysteries surrounding Katerina’s powerful family.

As the pair delves deeper, they uncover hidden truths, dangerous alliances, and a sinister plot that threatens the people they hold dear. The dangers they face test not only their courage but the fragile bond of their rekindled love.

In the face of secrets, betrayal, and imminent danger, Jara and Katerina must decide if their love is real and strong enough to withstand the darkness that surrounds them. With lives at stake and time running out, can they protect Katerina’s family and find a way to heal themselves?

Don’t miss your chance to be among the first to enter the nest.

About the Author

Lee Sato lives in Indianapolis, Indiana, with her partner of 20 years. A graduate of Franklin College with a B.A. in Psychology and Journalism, Sato spent more than three decades immersed in some of society’s darkest realities. Her career included working with gangs in the 1980s, adolescent and child psychiatry in the 1990s, and investigating crimes against children until her retirement in 2017.

Throughout it all, the faces of troubled teens and abused children remained with her. “Closure and justice were rarely the outcome,” she reflects. Writing became a way to process what couldn’t be forgotten — not through case notes or reports, but through storytelling.

Encouraged by her partner, she returned to a lifelong love of writing and crafted the powerful narrative that would become her debut novel. Hornet’s Nest marks the beginning of a new creative chapter, one born from real-life experience, empathy, and an unflinching look into the human condition.am
