London band away fans release intoxicating new single ‘Keeping On’ ft. SEY.MOUR.

away fans are an indie-rock four piece from London that set out to make music that gets everyone dancing, screaming and misbehaving. With a comprehensive and electric live performance described as “infectious dirty dance” with “propulsive disco rhythms”, they never leave a crowd standing on their heels. Fresh from their first two UK tours and three dates in New York in the last 12 months, their live show is set to continue to breathe life into the dingy basements, dancefloors and fields of the UK.

‘Keeping On’, the new single by away fans, marks a departure from the band’s previous releases, with a heavier focus on electronic dance elements blended into live band performance. It is also the band’s first collaboration with singer SEY.MOUR., whose backing vocals add layers of interesting texture and warmth to the intoxicating mixture.

“The song is about that moment post-argument with your partner, when the initial anger has faded and you just wanna sort things out but don’t know how. That sort of malaise when you’re desperate to get back to how things were but aren’t quite sure how to get there”, says away fans lead vocalist Tom Fisher. “We took inspiration from bands like Primal Scream and The Prodigy, who managed to keep the live feel of a band, whilst still fitting in with the rave and party scene”, he further adds.

When recording ‘Keeping On’, away fans utilised pre-programmed drums, blended with live performance, to create a rich layered sound which references jungle and drum and bass breaks, whilst still feeling like a guitar band. They also generated unique samples to layer throughout the track providing interesting rhythms and textures. The result is a sound that is infected with murky post-punk attitude and ‘Madchester’ rave scene style grooves, but with the band’s own London scene grit and determination binding everything together into a tightly packed punch of vibrant engaging music.

Edwina van Kuyk Shines In New Single ‘Here To Stay’

Published

There is a sense of arrival woven into every moment of Edwina van Kuyk’s new single, “Here To Stay.” The Irish pop-soul artist has steadily built momentum with each release, but this latest offering feels like a defining statement—one that showcases both her artistic growth and her willingness to dream bigger. Rich with warmth, heart, and ambition, the track captures an artist stepping confidently into her next chapter.

At the centre of the song is an uplifting fusion of contemporary pop-soul and gospel-inspired grandeur. Produced by Cian O’Donoghue, the arrangement gradually unfolds into something expansive and deeply moving, allowing Edwina’s expressive vocals to shine. The addition of the choir from St. Kevin’s Community College in Clondalkin proves transformative, adding a sense of community and emotional scale that elevates the song beyond a traditional pop release.

What makes “Here To Stay” particularly compelling is its sincerity. The influence of gospel music is felt not only in the choir arrangements but in the spirit of the track itself. There is an uplifting quality running through the song that feels earned rather than manufactured, driven by genuine passion and conviction. Edwina’s vocal performance anchors every moment, balancing vulnerability with strength.

The collaboration with the St. Kevin’s choir also brings an inspiring local dimension to the release. Their voices add richness and texture, creating moments that feel celebratory without sacrificing intimacy. It’s a reminder that some of the most powerful musical moments come from collective expression rather than individual spotlight.

As Edwina’s profile continues to grow, “Here To Stay” stands as her most accomplished release yet. It is ambitious without losing its emotional core, polished without feeling distant, and uplifting without becoming predictable. Most importantly, it feels like the work of an artist who knows exactly where she is headed—and who has every intention of staying there.
