Longtime Atlanta news anchor Amanda Davis dies after suffering stroke

ATLANTA –  A longtime Atlanta news anchor died Wednesday after suffering a massive spontaneous stroke.

Amanda Davis was at the Atlanta airport Tuesday when she was rushed to the hospital and underwent treatment, according to CBS46.

Davis joined CBS46 as a morning anchor in January. The Clark-Atlanta University graduate and Emmy-winning journalist spent 26 years at WAGA-TV, currently a Fox affiliate.

Historic motorsports returns to Georgia this September as Historic Sportscar Racing (HSR) brings the Classic 10 Hour and Fall Historics to Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta in Braselton, Georgia, September 17–20, 2026.

The three-day weekend will bring together historic race cars and competitors for a packed schedule of practice, qualifying, sprint races and Classic 10 Hour competition around one of America’s most celebrated road-racing circuits.

For automotive enthusiasts, the weekend offers more than what happens on the track. The paddock provides an up-close look at historic racing machinery while giving fans an opportunity to experience the people, preparation and culture surrounding vintage motorsports.

The Classic 10 Hour is part of HSR’s 2026 season, which features historic racing at legendary circuits including Daytona International Speedway, Sebring International Raceway, Watkins Glen International and Road Atlanta.
