Michelin Goes Statewide in Florida: Tampa’s Fat Beet Farm Lands a Green Star as the Guide Honors 200 Restaurants
Florida’s dining map just got a lot bigger. The 2026 MICHELIN Guide Florida selection is the first in the guide’s history to cover the entire state, recognizing 200 restaurants across 41 cuisine types — and Tampa came away with one of the night’s signature honors.
The headline for Tampa Bay went to Fat Beet Farm Kitchen and Bakery at 13830 W. Hillsborough Ave., which received a new MICHELIN Green Star for leading the way in mindful gastronomy. Tampa also kept its four starred restaurants — Ebbe, Kōsen, Koya and Rocca — while its Bib Gourmand contingent includes Gorkhali Kitchen, Psomi, Rooster and the Till and Streetlight Taco. Tampa’s Jada Vidal of Kinjo took home the Young Chef special award.
Statewide, the selection breaks down as two restaurants with two stars, 24 with one star, five Green Stars, 45 Bib Gourmand restaurants and 129 Recommended restaurants. The two-star ratings held at L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon in Miami and Sorekara in Orlando, and two restaurants joined the starred ranks for the first time: Emelina in West Palm Beach and Mutra in North Miami, each earning one star.
At Emelina, chefs Osmel González and Camila Salazar serve Cuban cuisine reimagined with global inspiration in an intimate space with 16 counter seats facing an open kitchen; inspectors singled out a 45-day dry-aged Florida beef and a reimagined oxtail stew, rabo encendido. Mutra is Israeli chef Raz Shabtai’s take on classic Middle Eastern cuisine, named for his grandmother, with a signature lamb kebab with smoked eggplant cream and tomato oil.
“Florida’s culinary landscape continues to evolve, which led our anonymous Inspectors on a journey from the Panhandle to Key West,” said Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of the MICHELIN Guide. The guide first entered Florida in 2022 covering Tampa, Miami and Orlando, expanded to additional regions in 2025, and with this selection now speaks for the whole state.

Georgia Grabs Two of the South’s Three New Michelin Stars as Atlanta’s So. Fox and Gay’s Uberto Join the Guide
Georgia owned the room at the 2026 MICHELIN Guide American South ceremony. Six Georgia restaurants received new distinctions at the unveiling at The Pinnacle in Nashville on October 21 — and the state’s two new one-star restaurants, So. Fox in Atlanta and Uberto in Gay, were two of only three new stars awarded across the entire seven-state region. The third went to Dakar NOLA in New Orleans.
The second annual American South selection covers 265 restaurants across 44 cuisine types, with 22 starred restaurants, 59 Bib Gourmands and 184 Recommended restaurants in total. Georgia now counts 10 starred restaurants statewide.
So. Fox, in Atlanta’s Virginia-Highland neighborhood, is helmed by chef Myles Moody and sommelier Rachael Pack, and its name pays homage to the Southern fox, another term for the indigenous muscadine grape. Inspectors praised dishes including corn dumplings in sweet corn sauce with lump crab and a roasted apple granita, along with Carolina Gold rice with toasted shrimp and drop dumplings with nettle and confit rabbit.
Uberto operates inside the World of Quercus resort in Gay, roughly an hour south of Atlanta, where chef Ryan Smith serves a tasting menu built on fermentation and preservation, open to non-resort guests on Friday and Saturday nights. Critics highlighted his miso and Alabama blue crab chawanmushi, cold-smoked, dry-aged Rohan duck grilled over binchotan coals with carrot puree, and fig ice cream with buckwheat sponge. Smith also received Michelin’s new Mindful Voices award; Uberto sources more than 90 percent of its produce from its on-site regenerative farm, which runs entirely on solar power and uses no chemical pesticides or herbicides.
Georgia’s new Bib Gourmands are Summerland in Atlanta, chef Anne Quatrano’s cafe on Collier Road, and Tipsy Thaiger in Roswell, while Pink Lotus in Atlanta and Spring 2nd Branch in Marietta joined the Recommended list.
