A small chamber ensemble performs on stage in front of a close audience at an Atlanta Symphony Orchestra concert.

This coming February, audiences can experience Atlanta’s finest musicians closer than ever as they connect, collaborate, and shine. The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra has announced Afterglow, a new three-concert series that brings chamber works vividly to life as part of the Midtown After Hours programming at the Goizueta Stage for Youth & Families at the Woodruff Arts Center.

Tickets just went on sale for the first concert, Brahms Revealed Up Close, on Friday, February 5, 2027, at 8 PM, part of the season-long Brahms Revealed celebration. ASO musicians and special guests bring Brahms’s feverishly Romantic masterworks to life. The audience will be treated to an intimate performance by sibling duo David and Julie Coucheron, who join forces for Brahms’s Third Violin Sonata. The program also features the composer’s Horn Trio and his String Sextet No. 1, which includes stellar young cellist Sterling Elliott, who will be in Atlanta to perform on the orchestra’s Delta Classical Series concerts as the featured guest artist. Joining them are Lauren Roth-Gómez and David Coucheron on violin, Zhenwei Shi and Yiyin Li on viola, Daniel Laufer and Sterling Elliott on cello, Ryan Little on horn, and Julie Coucheron on piano.

The series continues with Mostly Mozart Up Close on Friday, March 12, 2027, at 8 PM, and closes with Dvořák + Brahms Revealed on Friday, May 14, 2027, at 8 PM.

The Midtown After Hours series at the Goizueta Stage offers a fresh take on jazz and chamber music concerts. Audiences can expect musical surprises and discoveries from the best of Atlanta’s music scene. The Jazz Sessions series was recently announced as part of the same programming.
