Sahej’s New Track “Not Yet” Finds Strength in the Moment Before Letting Go
There is a difference between giving up and admitting that you are not ready.
That distinction sits at the heart of “Not Yet”, the latest single from 19-year-old artist Sahej. Rather than presenting fear as something to defeat, the song gives it a voice; capturing the strange space between knowing you have to move forward and still wanting to hold on.
The result is a track that feels suspended in time. An acoustic guitar progression provides its foundation, while piano, strings, atmospheric synths and layered vocals gradually widen the sound around it. The production remains restrained rather than chasing a huge emotional payoff, allowing the uncertainty in Sahej’s writing to remain front and centre.
There is a recurring sense of being caught between two states throughout the song. An open door is visible, but walking through it means leaving something behind. The narrator understands that change is coming, yet keeps resisting it. “Not yet” becomes less an excuse than an honest acknowledgement that some endings need time.
That emotional honesty is what gives the track its weight.
Interestingly, the song itself came from Sahej refusing to continue down a path that no longer felt right. After spending months working on another composition, he returned to it after a short break and realised he had lost his connection with what he had created. Instead of trying to rescue it, he started again with his guitar.
That decision ultimately produced something much more personal.
It also says something interesting about Sahej as an artist. There is no neat separation between the uncertainty he writes about and the uncertainty involved in creating the song. Both require recognising when something isn’t working and having the courage to stop, reassess and begin again.
Sahej’s musical world reflects that introspective approach. His arrangements leave considerable space around the vocal, with the combination of acoustic instrumentation and electronic textures creating something atmospheric without becoming overly polished. There are echoes of the subdued emotional production associated with artists such as Joji, Keshi and Billie Eilish, but “Not Yet” remains grounded in Sahej’s own perspective.
And that perspective extends beyond music. Currently studying Neuroscience at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, Sahej is interested in the human experience from both creative and scientific angles. His songwriting similarly revolves around questions of emotion, purpose, connection and what happens inside us when circumstances become difficult.
The important part is that “not yet” isn’t necessarily “never”.
For Sahej, the phrase became the foundation of a song about fear. But it also became something more hopeful: proof that hesitation can be part of moving forward, rather than evidence that you’ve stopped.

Naomi Aguilera casts her spell with her new single BB ILY
Two years ago, Naomi Aguilera walked onto my radar with EGO, an infectious soulful pop debut that made it impossible not to move. Fast forward to her debut EP Mosaïques, and it was clear she wasn’t just passing through. Personal, colorful, rooted in her Spanish heritage & Brussels upbringing, it even earned her a spot as Apple Music Benelux’s Up Next artist!
Now she’s back with BB ILY, marking the start of a new era. The bilingual single — French and English — is built around one of the most universal human experiences: that special connection that doesn’t need translation. Where EGO invited you to forget your ex on the dancefloor, BB ILY pulls you somewhere more intimate: with sultry beats courtesy of Turana, it’s a dance where gestures, whispers, sighs and the sound of a voice matters more than the words that come out of it… It’s sensual, a little mystical, and entirely her own.
First taste of Naomi Aguilera’s upcoming project Ojalá, due in 2027, it feels effortlessly catchy. This is the kind of track that casts its spell quietly, with interesting and unexpected rhythmic shifts in the verses, and a delicious chorus that lodges itself in your head before you even notice. By the time you do, it’s too late. But you won’t find me complaining about it!
