Scheffler Passes Tiger: Second FedEx Cup Title Caps a Season That Rewrote the Money List

Scottie Scheffler ended the PGA Tour season the way he has spent most of it: on top. Scheffler closed with a 4-under 66 on Sunday at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta to win the Tour Championship at 16-under 264, capture his second FedEx Cup title — and pass Tiger Woods as the tour’s all-time career earnings leader.

He had to come from behind to do it. Scheffler started Sunday three shots back of Viktor Hovland, caught him with a 25-foot birdie putt at the fourth hole and took his first lead of the day at the 13th, pulling away to win by three. Hovland closed with a 72 to finish alone in second, and Ryan Gerard took third.

The $10 million winner’s prize pushed Scheffler’s career earnings to $130,390,661, moving him past Woods’ $120,999,166 and ending Woods’ run of nearly 26 years atop the career money list. It was Scheffler’s 22nd PGA Tour victory and his third of 2026, following wins at The American Express and the FedEx St. Jude Championship. He also became just the third player with multiple FedEx Cup titles, joining Woods (2007, 2009) and Rory McIlroy (2016, 2019, 2022).

Unlike his 2024 FedEx Cup win under the old starting-strokes format, this was the first time Scheffler posted the low 72-hole score at the Tour Championship — a point he raised himself afterward. The title capped a season of remarkable consistency: five runner-up finishes, including a playoff loss to Hovland at the Travelers Championship, and only two finishes outside the top 15 in 20 starts.

“Coming from behind and being able to win tournaments is a really cool feeling,” Scheffler said at the trophy presentation. On Sunday at East Lake, it also made him the richest winner the tour has ever produced — Woods had stood atop the money list for nearly 26 years, and it took Scheffler’s 22nd career victory, at the season’s final event, to move him aside.

Blades Brown keeps making history before he can legally buy a drink.

The teenager finished alone in second at the Korn Ferry Tour Championship at The Federal Club in Virginia, closing with a 2-under 69 to climb to ninth in the season-long points standings — and with that, he became the youngest golfer ever to earn PGA Tour status through the Korn Ferry Tour.

Brown began the finale already inside the top 20 who earn 2027 PGA Tour cards, so his week was about positioning rather than survival. He delivered anyway, finishing runner-up to Austin Hitt in the season finale of the PGA Tour’s developmental circuit.

He is part of a 20-man graduating class headlined by Hitt and points champion Ross Steelman. The Korn Ferry Tour has long been the proving ground where future major winners earn their stripes, and Brown now carries that ‘youngest ever’ label into his rookie season on the big tour in 2027.
