There was no drama in Oxford, only a statement. No. 2 Georgia scored early, scored often and never let No. 10 Ole Miss breathe, rolling to a 42-7 win that snapped the Rebels’ 16 game home winning streak and tightened Georgia’s grip on the SEC race. The Bulldogs led 28-0 at halftime and 35-0 in the third quarter, and the only suspense left was whether Ole Miss would score at all.

Gunner Stockton accounted for five touchdowns in a ruthlessly efficient performance. He completed 9 of 15 passes for 186 yards and four touchdowns, then added a 15 yard touchdown run for good measure. His top target was Talyn Taylor, who turned four catches into 140 yards and three touchdowns, scoring from 58, 6 and 65 yards out. Ethan Barbour caught a 3 yard touchdown pass, and Craig Dandridge opened the scoring with a 4 yard touchdown run.

The ground game did the heavy lifting between the scores. Georgia ran for 295 yards as part of a 481 to 252 edge in total offense, with Nate Frazier carrying for 107 yards. The Bulldogs did not turn the ball over, controlled the line of scrimmage on both sides and turned every Ole Miss mistake into another long, grinding drive.

Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss finished 18 of 34 for 170 yards with no touchdowns and one interception, and the Rebels did not reach the end zone until the fourth quarter, when Shekai Mills-Knight scored on an 8 yard run. Mills-Knight carried 13 times for 52 yards, the best of a rough day for the home offense.

Georgia improves to 8-1 overall and 6-1 in the SEC, looking every bit like a team built for December. Ole Miss falls to 6-3 and 4-3 in the league, and leaves with a home winning streak gone and a long list of problems to fix.
