The Depths of Sound and Emotion in Blue Capricorn’s ‘Hear Me Out’

For fans of Ela Minus, Nicolas Jaar, DARKSIDE, and Yves Tumor, Blue Capricorn emerges once again with a gripping, genre-defying single, ‘Hear Me Out.’ Blurring the boundaries between electronic, indie, and synth-driven beats, the track is a sweeping soundscape that delves into themes of yearning and vulnerability. As the lead single from his upcoming EP, ‘Hear Me Out’ offers listeners a preview of the sonic innovation and heartfelt storytelling that define Blue Capricorn’s artistry.
Originally conceived as a collaborative project in early 2024 with Michael Briggs, the track evolved into something deeply personal. “What started as an idea for someone else became a song only I could release,” shares Blue Capricorn. The fusion of shimmering synths, meticulously layered samples, and emotionally charged instrumentation culminates in a track that feels spontaneous yet deliberate.
Lyrically, ‘Hear Me Out’ is a poignant exploration of longing, both for connection and self-acceptance. Blue Capricorn reflects, “It’s about wanting to feel seen, heard, and liberated. Writing this track felt like addressing the part of me that struggles to bridge the gap between my art and the recognition I hope for.”
With an ethos of constant experimentation, Blue Capricorn describes the single as a departure from his previous work while remaining true to his core philosophy: “I’ve always said my goal is to never repeat myself. With this song, I’m trying to evoke a very specific emotion through the instrumentation and production—a preview of what’s coming next.”
‘Hear Me Out’ invites listeners into a transformative journey, where improvisation meets intentionality, and sound becomes a language of its own. Stream it now on all major platforms, and stay tuned for the release of Blue Capricorn’s highly anticipated EP later this year.

While more of a behind-the-scenes player DJ Design’s (aka Keith Griego) work has had a sizable imprint on the history of modern hip-hop. As a DJ/Beatmaker and visual artist he has contributed production and art since the late 90’s for notables including The Beastie Boys, Madlib, A.G., Foreign Legion, Rasco, Peanut Butter Wolf and Phat Kat.
As a visual artist, his high point of work with the label was his design of the 12” vinyl cover for Lootpack member Madlib’s side project Quasimoto. The cover for “Microphone Mathematics” featured Design/Griego’s visual representation of Lord Quas as a sort of alien aardvark, which was adopted by the artist and has since become one of the most iconic and enduring
characters in the game today.
