While we wait for the new album from Danish music legends Blue Foundation to drop, which is expected in 2025, the band have unveiled a new cinematic capture of an epic performance of their iconic song “Eyes on Fire”, from a sold-out show at the Royal Danish Theatre earlier this year.

Famously featured on the “Twilight” soundtrack, the song has become a symbol of cold-weather nostalgia, with fans dubbing it the anthem of “hoa hoa season,” according to Independent UK.

“Eyes on Fire” is renowned for its hauntingly beautiful soundscape and dream-pop elements. Its introspective lyrics explore themes of power and resilience, resonating with listeners worldwide. The song’s significance soared after its feature in “Twilight” (2008), perfectly capturing the film’s dark romance. Today, it continues to gain momentum as a viral sensation on TikTok, reaffirming its lasting appeal and relevance in pop culture.

On the new “Eyes on Fire” live video and single, Blue Foundation’s lead singer Tobias Wilner says: – “It was such an intense and amazing experience. You could really feel the energy from the audience, and it felt like we were all connected through the music. In that moment, it was more than just a performance—we were all in it together, and that’s something I’ll never forget. This song isn’t just ours anymore; it belongs to everyone who listens.”

Founded in 2000 by Danish singer, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Tobias Wilner, the group was inspired by Mark E. Smith’s method of forming a band (The Fall), with Wilner recruiting a rotating lineup of traditional musicians over the years to fuel creativity. Since 2010, the core members of the band have been Tobias Wilner and Bo Rande, working between Crown Heights, Brooklyn, and Copenhagen, Denmark.

Blue Foundation is renowned for their distinctive fusion of electronic music and dream pop. Drawing inspiration from the ethereal nature of dream pop and a moody, introspective atmosphere, the band creates immersive soundscapes characterized by emotive vocals and intricate production. Their music often evokes a sense of melancholy and reflection, resonating with listeners who appreciate ambient, emotive melodies and introspective themes.

The band has released several well-received albums, including “Life of a Ghost”, “In My Mind I Am Free” and “Blood Moon”. These albums showcase their signature style and have cemented their reputation in the indie music scene. They have collaborated with a range of artists and producers, enriching their sound and expanding their reach within the music industry. Collaborators include Jonas Bjerre (Mew), Erika Spring (Au Revoir Simone), Findlay Brown, DJ Krush, Sara Savery, and Wang Wen.

As well as “Eyes on Fire” gaining significant fame from “Twilight”, Blue Foundation’s music has been featured in various other popular films, such as Michael Mann’s “Miami Vice,” and TV shows like “The Vampire Diaries.” Blue Foundation have also been sampled by Lil Durk on his track “Fly High” featuring French Montana and Young Thug‘s song “She Noticed.” They also co-wrote the song “Taurus” for Machine Gun Kelly.

The band’s live performances, as showcased in the new “Eyes on Fire” video, are equally captivating, combining live instruments with electronic elements and striking visuals to create an immersive experience for audiences.

Host Bodies’ track ‘On A Roll’ Gets a Psychedelic Reinvention from Soul Glitch

Ten years after Host Bodies first released the album Daily Apparatus, “On A Roll” has found a completely new groove.

For the Daily Apparatus: 10 Year Remixes project, multi-instrumentalist and producer Nicholas Hasty, under his Soul Glitch moniker, takes the original electronic-rock track and pulls it into deeper, more psychedelic territory.

The remix keeps the energy of Host Bodies intact while opening up the track with new beats, electronic textures and expressive saxophone solos. Electric guitar, bass and layered production give it a rich, genre-blurring sound that sits somewhere between indie electronic, jazztronica, soultronica and alternative dance.

There’s something particularly satisfying about hearing a decade-old track treated not as a relic, but as raw material. Soul Glitch reshapes “On A Roll” , finding new spaces within the original and bringing his own musical language into the mix.

The result is energetic, sensual, psychedelic and unapologetically expansive.

Ten years on, “On A Roll” proves that sometimes the best way to celebrate where a song came from is to find somewhere completely new for it to go.
