Kofi Emma is a warm-hearted and fantastic drummer from Ghana – AFRODRUMS from USA
In an exclusive interview with gospel blogger SkBeatz Records, Ghanaian USA based drummer, Emmanuel Adamah, well know as Afro Drums, shared a heartfelt connection with Ghanaian drummer Kofi Emma.
They met in Ivory Coast two years ago and have become really close since then. Afro Drums described Kofi Emma as one of the warmest-hearted guys he’s ever met. It’s so cool that they rarely talk about drums and instead focus on life and how it’s treating them.
Emmanuel Adamah is Sonnie Badu’s official drummer who is based in the United States.
At Dr. Sonnie Badu’s Live In Concert – RHYTHMS OF AFRICA, which happened on December 9, 2023, Afro Drums and Kofi Emma used two different drum sets. They initially planned to use just one, but they realized that their height differences and preferred drum settings might affect the flow of the event. So, to make sure everything went smoothly, they decided to use two drum sets, playing individually and simultaneously.
SkBeatz Records captured this unique performance, making it a truly remarkable event.
So, during Dr. Sonnie Badu’s Live In Concert – RHYTHMS OF AFRICA, the energy in the venue was electrifying! Afro Drums and Kofi Emma took the stage with their drums, ready to create an unforgettable experience for the audience.

The gifted artist was awarded a platinum record, which is a fantastic accolade signaling the success of her recent release, “Ave Fénix,” which actually made it to number one on the US charts. This is truly fantastic, especially considering that Vanessa worked so hard to get to this point and to constantly explore new styles and expand her audience. She is a gifted artist who knows what it takes to make music with passion and integrity, and her consistency has definitely paid off. As an artist, she was able to combine great melodies with punchy production aesthetics that add to the power and appeal of her sound. This accolade is a remarkable testimony to the fact that Vanessa’s music is experiencing global recognition because when you break into the US market, it’s essentially an open door for everywhere else.
This is a powerful demonstration of what it means to make music with no compromise and with full artistic integrity while still retaining a catchy vibe. Her most recent release, “Ave Fénix,” has reached well over 43,000 streams on Spotify alone, and the song keeps moving forward, reaching more and more people. Vanessa is a particularly interesting artist because she is very versatile on tap. Although she is based in Italy, the song is actually sung in Spanish, which really lends a warm and unique vibe to the track. There’s always a “Caliente“ factor to singing in Spanish, especially when it comes to this kind of music, and Vanessa was definitely able to tap into that vibe seamlessly.
