Nixo Fortune Ends 2023 In Style With Latest Hit Single “Pieces”
Emerging hip-hop artist Nixo Fortune, born Nicholas Avery Fortune, unveils his latest single, “Pieces”, showcasing a profound evolution in his musical style. Raised in Sumter, South Carolina, and currently based in Seattle, Nixo Fortune draws inspiration from a diverse range of musical genres, reflecting the eclectic influences of his upbringing.
Growing up in a household immersed in music, Nixo Fortune was exposed to a rich tapestry of sounds, from his mother’s love for gangster rap and hip-hop from the golden era to his grandmother’s passion for Motown. His early exposure to the trap sounds emanating from nearby Atlanta, Georgia, further shaped his musical sensibilities. Artists such as Gucci Mane, Lil Wayne, Waka Flocka, Lil Boosie and Kanye West played a pivotal role in shaping Nixo’s approach to music.
Known for his forceful delivery and punchline-heavy verses, Nixo Fortune has recently expressed a desire to explore greater versatility. This evolution is evident in “Pieces”, a hauntingly raw and vulnerable track that explores a different facet of Nixo’s artistry.
Speaking about the new single, Nixo Fortune says, “‘Pieces’ is about releasing emotions and energy that don’t serve me. This track serves as a reminder to make space for myself and emotions, especially as a man.”
The creation of “Pieces” was a cathartic process for Nixo Fortune, as he channelled his emotions into the music. Nixo reflects on a period of loss and introspection, stating, “I had just lost a dear friend of mine around the time that I wrote ‘Pieces’. I was reflecting a lot, as this loss shook me and made me reassess life and put things into perspective. I really needed a release, so I was looking for beats to write to one morning until I found one that spoke to my soul, and I began spilling. About three hours later, the song was finished. I’m very proud of this track due to the space I was in and the breakthroughs I had while creating it.”
With its ethereal soundscape and poignant lyrics, “Pieces” is poised to resonate with listeners who appreciate vulnerability and authenticity in hip-hop. “Pieces” is available to buy/stream now on all platforms: https://nixofortunre.lnk.to/pieces.
