Nordic Daughter Unleashes Powerful New Single “God of Thunder”
A sonic storm of perseverance, purpose, and passion from the Colorado-based warrior duo
Nordic Daughter, the fierce and genre-defying duo known for fusing mythic storytelling with raw emotional power, returns with the release of their electrifying new single, “God of Thunder.” Out now on all major platforms, the track is a thunderous anthem celebrating the trials and triumphs of the human spirit.
“God of Thunder” is more than a song—it’s a call to the core. Channeling the primordial energy of our ancestral past, the single explores the internal battles we all face: the push and pull of family, the fire of perseverance, and the triumph of self-actualization. “This song is a representation of the human spirit,” says vocalist and songwriter Melissa Lycan. “We come from the dark primordial ooze, full of the nature and nurture of those that came before.”
Known for their immersive performances and powerful storytelling, Nordic Daughter isn’t just a band—it’s an experience rooted in variety, love, accountability, and fierce authenticity. Melissa Lycan’s signature vocal style—both unique and timeless—guides listeners through a sonic journey that is intimate, soul-stirring, and unforgettable.
Since debuting at Denver’s iconic Oriental Theater in 2016, Nordic Daughter has steadily carved out a devoted following. Their early EP Forgotten (2017) and sophomore album The Path (2018), both produced by Ahrue Luster and featuring violinist Mia Asano, laid the foundation for a bold new vision in rock and folk music. The 2020 singles marked a reflection on the collective hero’s journey, and their third full-length release, Perceptions (2023), offered a deeply personal look at resilience and growth, largely produced by Haven Yates.
Now, with “God of Thunder” leading the charge, Nordic Daughter sets the stage for their most ambitious project yet—their fourth studio album, Nordic Sun, produced by Jason Lycan at B-Normous Studio and was released via World Sound/Virgin Music in May 2025.
Nordic Daughter has performed alongside a diverse array of artists including Lita Ford, Trapt, Celtica Nova, Hexxen, Cold, Stitched Up Heart, Jack Russell and Great White, and Crimson Pirates. The duo has headlined beloved festivals such as Yule Viking Festival, Scandinavian Midsummer Festival, Southern Indiana Renaissance Faire, Cheyenne Celtic Festival, and Colorado Medieval Festival, and will soon be storming stages at All Hallows Medieval Fantasy Faire and Boynton Beach Pirate Festival this fall.
At the heart of Nordic Daughter’s mission is global impact: teaching children around the world to write music as a form of emotional expression and healing. Their vision includes large-scale benefit concerts and fully choreographed performances that connect communities and inspire creativity.
“Get ready,” Lycan declares. “We are the fiercest of all warriors—Nordic Daughter.”

Solomon King & The Chosen Sounds the Alarm with “Blood on the Streets (In the USA)”
Solomon King & The Chosen’s “Blood on the Streets (In the USA)” hits with the force of a warning siren echoing through a fractured nation. Dark, urgent, and emotionally charged, the song captures the tension, fear, and emotional exhaustion so many people feel when looking at the state of the world today.

The production carries a cinematic heaviness, blending haunting melodies with a pulse that feels almost apocalyptic. Solomon King delivers the track with conviction and intensity, never sounding manufactured or performative. Instead, the song feels deeply personal — a reflection of heartbreak, frustration, and concern for humanity itself.
What makes “Blood on the Streets (In the USA)” resonate is that it avoids empty slogans. It speaks more to the emotional climate than politics, painting a portrait of anxiety, division, violence, and uncertainty without losing its artistic edge. The track feels timely because it channels emotions many people struggle to articulate.

There’s also something fearless about the release. Solomon King leans into uncomfortable realities while still crafting a song that is compelling musically. The result is both provocative and unforgettable — part protest anthem, part emotional outcry, and part cinematic soundtrack for uneasy times.
“Blood on the Streets (In the USA)” is not background music. It demands attention.
