The Weber Brothers Release Reflective New Single “Hello Hollow Love”
A powerful meditation on love, growth, and the courage to move beyond the surface
For over two decades, The Weber Brothers have built their reputation as one of the hardest-working and most electrifying acts in rock and roll. Now, the acclaimed brother duo returns with their latest single, “Hello Hollow Love,” a deeply thoughtful and emotionally resonant track that explores the difference between fleeting romance and the transformative power of lasting connection.
Known for allowing their music to speak for itself, the brothers rarely attempt to over-explain their songwriting process. But with “Hello Hollow Love,” Ryan Weber offered insight into the spark behind the song — a revelation inspired by an interview with legendary singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell discussing relationships and emotional growth.
“She was saying that if you want to keep that new, fresh, exciting, and thrilling thing that relationships bring in the beginning…the thing to do is stay with the same person,” Weber explains. “At first it sounds backward, because people think excitement comes from starting over with someone new. But she talked about how those early stages can become a cycle — thrilling, yes, but shallow if you never move beyond them.”
That realization became the emotional foundation for “Hello Hollow Love,” a song that examines the tension between the intoxicating rush of new love and the deeper discoveries that only come through commitment, vulnerability, and time.
“That early stage is exciting,” Weber continues, “but maybe if it just stays there, it’s a hollow stage. It’s in the next parts, if you have the courage to go there, that new things are discovered. That’s maybe where the new you is.”
The title itself emerged from the sound and rhythm of the phrase. “Then we liked how ‘hello hollow’ sounded,” Weber says. “Those two words together make a cool sound, so…Hello Hollow Love.”
To many fans, The Weber Brothers are already legendary — a powerhouse act forged through years of relentless touring, fearless musicianship, and firsthand mentorship from rock and roll icons. To others, they remain one of music’s great hidden treasures, waiting to be discovered.
Their remarkable journey began when teenage brothers Ryan and Sam Weber left their home in Baltimore determined to meet rockabilly pioneer Ronnie Hawkins. Ten hours later, they arrived at his doorstep. Impressed by their raw talent, Hawkins invited them to audition for his legendary backing band, The Hawks — launching the brothers into an intense musical apprenticeship often described as a “rock ‘n’ roll boot camp.”
By the ages of 18 and 21, the pair had already shared stages with artists including Kris Kristofferson, Levon Helm, Garth Hudson, Jeff Healey, and The Tragically Hip.
Since then, the brothers have released 18 independent albums and toured extensively throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe. In 2012, they were invited to perform at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame American Music Masters Tribute to Chuck Berry, sharing the stage with an all-star lineup including Merle Haggard, Lemmy Kilmister, Darryl McDaniels, Joe Bonamassa, and Berry himself.
Their story was further chronicled in the award-winning 2016 documentary Before We Arrive: The Story of The Weber Brothers, which earned Best Documentary honors at the Toronto Independent Film Festival.
In addition to their acclaimed live performances, the brothers are highly sought-after studio musicians, contributing to hundreds of recordings alongside artists such as Gordon Lightfoot, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, and Ronnie Hawkins.
With “Hello Hollow Love,” The Weber Brothers once again prove why they continue to resonate with audiences across generations — combining timeless songwriting, philosophical depth, and raw rock and roll spirit into a song that lingers long after the final note.

Host Bodies’ track ‘On A Roll’ Gets a Psychedelic Reinvention from Soul Glitch
Ten years after Host Bodies first released the album Daily Apparatus, “On A Roll” has found a completely new groove.
For the Daily Apparatus: 10 Year Remixes project, multi-instrumentalist and producer Nicholas Hasty, under his Soul Glitch moniker, takes the original electronic-rock track and pulls it into deeper, more psychedelic territory.
The remix keeps the energy of Host Bodies intact while opening up the track with new beats, electronic textures and expressive saxophone solos. Electric guitar, bass and layered production give it a rich, genre-blurring sound that sits somewhere between indie electronic, jazztronica, soultronica and alternative dance.
There’s something particularly satisfying about hearing a decade-old track treated not as a relic, but as raw material. Soul Glitch reshapes “On A Roll” , finding new spaces within the original and bringing his own musical language into the mix.
The result is energetic, sensual, psychedelic and unapologetically expansive.
Ten years on, “On A Roll” proves that sometimes the best way to celebrate where a song came from is to find somewhere completely new for it to go.
