Queens of the Stone Age Return With ‘Perfecth’
Queens of the Stone Age have never done anything the tidy way — starting with the title. The band releases Perfecth, its ninth studio album, on Friday, October 30, through Matador Records, a nine-track record produced by frontman Josh Homme and bassist Michael Shuman and recorded between New Orleans and Los Angeles.
The title deliberately mangles the word “perfect,” and the theme underneath it is kintsugi — the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold. The album takes on love, loss and what survives, finding the beauty in the cracks rather than hiding them.
Three singles have led the way. “Easy Street” features Nikki Lane, “Insignificant Other” was captured in just two takes to keep it spontaneous, and “Where the Goth Girls At?” got a national spotlight when the band performed it on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on October 21.
The road work is already mapped out. A 2027 “Perfecth World Tour” has been announced, with a U.S. leg alongside Pixies set for May 2027 — a co-bill that pairs two of alternative rock’s most durable live acts.
Perfecth lands Friday: nine songs, no polish where it doesn’t belong, and a band still more interested in the fracture lines than the smooth surface.
There is a quiet confidence in the rollout: a single captured in two takes, a late-night TV performance used as a launchpad rather than an afterthought, and a title that dares you to misread it. Queens of the Stone Age have always treated polish as a kind of lie, and Perfecth — broken on purpose, held together with gold — might be their purest statement of that philosophy yet.

Nickelback Announce 11th Studio Album ‘Everything Under the Sun’
Nickelback are back with the biggest swing of their late career. The Canadian rock giants release Everything Under the Sun on Friday, October 30, via Virgin Music Group — the band’s 11th studio album, 12 tracks deep, and their first new album since 2022’s Get Rollin’.
The lead single has already done its work. “Rattle The Cage,” featuring Mötley Crüe guitarist John 5, reached No. 1 on U.S. Active Rock radio, giving the album a chart-topping calling card before it even arrived. Elsewhere, “Bones For The Crows” carries an unusual origin story — the track was originally created for the 2023 video game Dungeon Hunter 6.
Frontman Chad Kroeger says the record shows the band’s full range. “This album has every side of the band on it,” he said at the announcement, adding that “‘Rattle The Cage’ felt like the perfect way to kick the door open.”
The album is only half the news. A 2027 world tour behind the record is already announced, with an Australian leg set for October 2027 featuring Don Broco as special guests — a sign the band expects these songs to live on the road for a long time.
Three decades in, Nickelback remain one of rock’s most reliable arena draws. Everything Under the Sun arrives Friday, built for exactly those rooms.
Four years separated this album from Get Rollin’, the longest gap of the band’s career, and the early returns suggest the wait sharpened the formula rather than softening it. A No. 1 rock-radio single before release day, a sold-out touring machine waiting behind it, and a catalog that already fills arenas — Everything Under the Sun is positioned as a victory lap that still bothers to sprint.
