REFLEKTA Unveil Debut Album ‘Way Back Home’

Published

on

REFLEKTA’s story has been moving quickly. The Sydney-based band, whose DNA is equal parts Britpop swagger and modern rock catharsis, have announced their debut album Way Back Home alongside a new single called “My Love”. It’s a song that feels like rolling the windows down at midnight and turning the volume all the way up — a rush of gratitude wrapped inside towering guitars and one of the band’s biggest hooks to date.

“My Love” arrives with an official video and immediately positions itself as REFLEKTA’s most confident release yet. A repeating vocal mantra drives the chorus while layered guitars and dynamic shifts push the track toward something euphoric. Even the production carries hidden meaning. Heartbeat samples pulse beneath the opening moments, joined by emergency sirens intended to pull listeners back toward life rather than signal danger — a small but telling detail that reflects the song’s optimistic core.

The track holds a unique place in the band’s catalogue. Written after sessions had already produced enough material for a full album, “My Love” transformed from a late addition into the project’s defining introduction. “It’s a celebration of the good things,” the band explain, framing the song as an invitation to collectively appreciate the moments that often pass unnoticed amid everyday chaos.

That perspective extends across Way Back Home, a record that moves between euphoria and uncertainty while confronting themes of love, social division, frustration, and hope. Since debuting in late 2025, REFLEKTA have steadily expanded their audience through emotionally charged releases and high-energy live performances, with support from Apple Music editorial playlists helping amplify their reach. Now, with a national tour and debut album arriving simultaneously, the band appear ready to turn that momentum into something much bigger.

A unique show for film buffs and music lovers alike is set to tour the UK & Europe this September.

‘Wes Banderson: The Music of Wes Anderson’, a celebration of the original score music and deep cut needle-drops from the films of Wes Anderson, is scheduled to come to Manchester, Bristol, London and Birmingham for four special shows this year.

Performing in Team Zissou livery, the five-piece ensemble effortlessly switch between instruments as they move between the soundtracks of ‘Rushmore’, ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’, ‘The Royal Tenenbaums’, ‘The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou’, ‘Moonrise Kingdom’, ‘The Darjeeling Limited’, ‘Fantastic Mr. Fox’ and beyond.

The group performs pieces from composers Mark Mothersbaugh, Alexander Desplatt, Sven Libaek, Shankar-Jakishan, Maurice Ravel and more, accompanied by live projected visuals.

Creator/Director Adam Znaidi, who you may also know as the bass player of The Go! Team and co-founder of The Physics House Band, says: “The aim for this show was to make it feel like a ‘gig’, something that anyone could enjoy, even if they weren’t that familiar with Wes Anderson’s films. It gets really loud, it gets really quiet and takes you on a journey through a whole load of genres.”
