Tate McRae’s “Housewife” Debuts at No. 2 on the Hot 100 and No. 1 on Both Global Charts

Published

on

Tate McRae has a new career high. Her single “Housewife” debuts at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming the highest-charting solo single of her career, and opens at No. 1 on both of Billboard’s global charts in the same week.

The No. 2 debut moves past the No. 3 peaks of her earlier hits “greedy” and “Tit for Tat,” marking a new solo ceiling for the Canadian pop star. On the worldwide tallies, “Housewife” launches at No. 1 on both the Billboard Global 200 and the Global Excl. U.S. chart — her first time debuting at No. 1 on either global ranking.

The numbers behind the debut are substantial. The song racked up 55.9 million streams and 6,000 in sales worldwide during the Oct. 16–22 tracking week. In the United States alone, it drew 22.9 million on-demand streams, sold 4,000 copies, and reached 12.7 million radio audience impressions. It also topped Spotify’s Weekly Global Chart for Oct. 16–22 with 39.1 million streams.

“Housewife” arrived Oct. 15 alongside its official video, serving as the lead single from McRae’s forthcoming fourth studio album. Just three days after release, she took the song to a major live stage, performing it at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on Oct. 18.

The chart results cap a fast-moving rollout and set a high bar for the album still to come. With a personal-best Hot 100 debut and simultaneous No. 1 launches on both global charts, “Housewife” gives McRae the biggest opening week of her career so far — and positions her new era as one of pop’s headline stories heading into the end of the year.
