TOM ANTHONY Shares Debut Album ‘LITTLE MORSELS’
Describing his sound as ‘rock & roll for grownups’, singer-songwriter Tom Anthony returns with the release of his debut album, Little Morsels.
After a 15-year hiatus, Tom Anthony’s musical itch is being scratched with this forthcoming epic debut album. He found his love for music again during the global pandemic of COVID-19, after picking up a battered old guitar and relearning everything he had forgotten. Soon, he began penning songs and spent the last three years writing and recording, Little Morsels.
The genre-blend realms of indie, indie-rock, singer-songwriter, and punk sounds are used throughout the uplifting collection of tracks. There’s a nice combination of energetic punk rock to acoustic ballads fusing electric guitar (Fender Telecaster and Stratocaster), acoustic guitar (Martin OM-21), bass guitar (Sire Marcus Miller), drums, and vocals in the production, all composed and written by Tom Anthony.
In the subject matter of the songs, Tom Anthony took inspiration from the world around him and the things he sees happening today – whether that’s about control and social media, the need to find some space, or resilience and optimism in the face of challenges.
Musically, he’s been inspired by a whole range of artists, but he thinks the ones that come to the surface the most on this record are Ziggy Stardust-era Bowie, Ryan Adams, The Bends-era Radiohead, Oasis, The Beatles, The National, The Darkness, Jeff Buckley, Tom Waits, Bob Dylan, The Smiths, Green Day, Bloc Party, The La’s, and The Strokes.
On the album, Tom Anthony says, “This album will always be very special to me. It’s a document of my return to the thing I love to do, and I’m delighted it actually made it out into the world. It took me years to make, and in a little under 40 minutes, you’ll hear the result of all that work.“
As an independent artist, Tom Anthony is excited to share his musical journey with the world, make great records, and put on the best show in town. His songs tell stories of real life, real experiences, and the highs and lows of the world around us, offering hope and a new perspective in a time of pessimism and division. Little Morsels, showcases his music prowess while highlighting his authenticity, passion, and commitment to artistic evolution.
