Kendrick Lamar and The Weeknd release new track, “Pray For Me” From The Movie Black Panther Soundtrack
The anticipation for Black Panther couldn’t be higher. Ryan Coogler’s film is breaking presales records left and right, while his cast, led by Chadwick Boseman, is putting all other stars to shame on the red carpet.Kendrick Lamar’s done his part to stoke those flames, dropping songs here and there from the soundtrack he’s curated. The latest track from Lamar features the Weeknd, who wonders who will “Pray For Me.”
Lamar’s bars about a “sacrifice for the greater good” and The Weeknd’s melancholy hook are a reminder that for all the Afrofuturist badassery that Black Panther has in store for us, T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) is still conflicted about his ascension to the throne and what he’ll have to do to defend it.
The Black Panther soundtrack drops February 9, just one week ahead of the film’s debut.

THE AMERICAN RELICS Taking the World of Music By Storm
THE AMERICAN RELICS signed to Tribeca Records have been whipping the floors with their recent YouTube videos. From out of nowhere (well at least from out of the 60’s) they have come onto the music scene with style and grace and a huge buzz and they haven’t stopped to take a breath. Their videos for “My Impala”, “The Eyes of 1969”, and “We’ve Got To Start It All Again” are making a huge splash in the world of music.
The poetry of THE AMERICAN RELICS is that they’ve been around awhile, playing music since the 60’s, however their songs somehow stay relevant in the present. THE AMERICAN RELICS consist of frontman, guitarist and vocalist John Gitano, Guitarist Neal Lazar, Bassist Nelson Montana, Vocalist Adrienne Dugger, Acoustic Guitarist Patty Jarman, Keyboardist Bill Gulino and drummer John McCann.
Their songs are fun….all of them… and of course, nostalgic. They are known for bending genres, and for holding a huge and enormous stumbling sphere of human emotions… their songs are a place where both grief and grace can live, where rage can be explored and examined, and not simply exploited. they treat us to memories, the links on a golden chains that bind and unite us….listen to THE AMERICAN RELICS and you will instantly become a fan.
