Armani White Turns His Favorite Brand Into a Freestyle, and Colm Dillane Steals the Video

Published

Armani White has never treated a single like a throwaway, and his newest release is proof. On October 16, the Philadelphia rapper dropped “KIDSUPER FREESTYLE,” a single and visual built as an open love letter to KidSuper, the Brooklyn label whose clothes he was wearing long before fashion houses came calling. The rollout landed instantly: promotion for the release piled up more than 300,000 likes across TikTok and Instagram within its first 15 hours online.

The visual, directed by Benji Allen and White himself, was filmed inside KidSuper’s store and studios and hands the screen over to founder Colm Dillane, who tears through the space like a co-star rather than a cameo. White, rocking the brand’s now-famous clothespin-covered sweater, delivers the freestyle as a reminder that the pen still works when the beat slows down. The connection between artist and brand runs back years, to the “BILLIE EILISH.” video shoot, where the KidSuper team kitted White out with a windbreaker when he had nothing to wear.

That 2022 breakout, of course, changed everything. “BILLIE EILISH.” turned a viral moment into a multi-platinum single and carried White to a deal with Def Jam Recordings, where his catalog has kept expanding through the Road to CASABLANCO. project and last year’s There’s a Ghost in My House.

“KIDSUPER FREESTYLE” continues a busy 2026 run that has already delivered singles like “COST.” and the Mannie Fresh-flipping “PRESS.,” each one a window into the full-length album White has been steadily building toward. Between records, he has been rolling out his Spilled Mik freestyle series and a string of short films, keeping the campaign in his own hands and on his own terms.

It adds up to an artist treating the space between albums as a stage of its own. If the freestyle is any indication, the forthcoming album will arrive with its world — equal parts rap, theater and fashion — already fully built.

Don Toliver Earns His First Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs No. 1 With Drake’s “Solar Eclipse”

Don Toliver has his first No. 1. “Solar Eclipse,” his collaboration with Drake, opened at the top of Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Hot R&B Songs charts dated October 17, 2026, giving the Houston singer his first leader on both lists. The song also entered the Hot 100 at No. 5, Toliver’s first top 10 on that chart as a lead artist, powered by 15.1 million U.S. streams in its opening week.

The record reached listeners in stages: it first appeared in Drake’s “FOMO” film before its October 2 streaming release on “HABIBTI (FOMO),” with the standalone video following on October 6. Built around Ella Langley’s country hit “Choosin’ Texas,” reworked into a Houston-nightlife setting, the song pairs Drake’s chorus with Toliver’s Auto-Tuned verse and a nod to his home in Fort Bend County, Texas. Toliver also appears on “Cold Shoulder,” a second track from the same expanded edition.

The chart milestone arrived in the same stretch as fresh hardware. The RIAA issued a new round of certifications for Toliver dated October 8, 2026, including an award for his 2021 album “Life of a Don,” released through Cactus Jack and Atlantic. His fifth album, “Octane,” which came out in January 2026 through Cactus Jack, Donnway & Co and Atlantic, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, his first solo chart-topping album.

The album behind it all keeps compounding. “Octane” has surpassed one billion streams on Spotify, and all 17 of its tracks landed simultaneously on Billboard’s Hot Rap Songs chart, making Toliver just the sixth artist in history to place 17 or more songs on that chart in a single week. Its singles “E85” and “Body” rank among the biggest streaming hip-hop songs of 2026, and Toliver took an unusually hands-on role in making the record, executive-producing the album himself rather than simply choosing from beats sent his way.

Now the run moves overseas. The second leg of Toliver’s Octane world tour, billed as NITROUS, plays Prague’s O2 Arena on October 30 before continuing to Frankfurt on October 31 and Berlin on November 2, and it reaches London’s O2 on November 23. Between a Drake-assisted No. 1, new RIAA plaques and an arena leg across Europe, Toliver’s “Octane” era is still accelerating.
