Atlanta Dream Defeated The Minnesota Lynx 76-74, with Angel McCoughtry Hitting Game-Winning Shot
The Atlanta Dream came in with a 1-2 record in which they lost their first home opener to the Dallas Wings only to face the defending champions Minnesota Lynx. With Angel McCoughtry back on the court, her presence was definitely felt after she nailed a 3 pointer with 1.5 seconds left in the fourth quarter which gave Atlanta the lead by two.
Angel McCoughtry scored 12 of her 18 points in the fourth quarter, while Tiffany Hayes was able to draw the defense to her only to set Angel up with an assist. Tiffany played 31 minutes and scored 20 points. Her beast mode like attitude contributed to their victory over Minnesota Lynx.
Maya Moore scored 18 points for Minnesota and Sylvia Fowles had 13 points and 13 rebounds. This was a very tough game for both teams however; Atlanta was able to pull away with the victory.
Atlanta Dream will face Phoenix Mercury in their next game which they will play on their home court Sunday, June 3rd at 3pm.
