ATLANTA RAPPER LIL YACHTY TO HEADLINE JOURNEYS AND ADIDAS ORIGINALS’ FREE MUSIC FESTIVAL “DESTINATION: ATLANTA” ON SEPTEMBER 28

(ATLANTA) – September 17, 2019 – “Destination: Atlanta,” an immersive, one-day music event created by Journeys and adidas Originals today announced Lil Yachty as the headliner for their second annual festival on September 28 in Atlanta. The GRAMMY-nominated rapper will take the main stage and perform fan favorites at the Georgia Freight Depot in downtown Atlanta. Lil Yachty, also known as “Lil Boat,” is a 22-year-old Atlanta native, known for shifting views around rap by embracing self-acceptance and diversity through music. Hit records from the rapper, producer and creative designer include, “One Night,” and “Minnesota” along with his chart topping album, Teenage Emotions. “We are excited to have Lil Yachty as our headliner for this year’s ‘Destination: Atlanta,'” says Kari Irons, SVP Marketing, Journeys Group. “It was important to us that we include an artist who embodies the vibrant and diverse culture of Atlanta and Lil Yachty is the perfect example of that. We look forward to providing an exciting and authentic experience for fans in his hometown.” This year’s partnership between Journeys and adidas Originals is inspired by the music and culture derived from the city of Atlanta and will include various interactive stations for an elevated experience for guests. The free event will conveniently take place in the vacant lot area of the Georgia Freight Depot. Additional acts performing at “Destination: Atlanta” include hip-hop artists Kodie Shane, Marlo and newly-added, Mike Floss. Festival-goers can also take in the sounds of DJs Heroes x Villains and Ferrari Simmons along with host, Kenny Burns. The “Destination” series launched last year in San Diego and welcomed over 3,400 attendees with headlining rapper, Jay Rock. Over 4,000 guests are expected this year.

New 22-minute documentary short follows Micky Angelo Petrillo after transitioning at 59, with the acclaimed POSE star helping bring his story to the screen

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — NEW YORK: The official trailer for CALL ME MICKY, a new documentary short Executive Produced by acclaimed POSE star Dominique Jackson and directed by Andrew Rasmussen, has been released on YouTube ahead of the film’s upcoming festival run.

The 22-minute documentary follows Micky Angelo Petrillo, a larger-than-life New Jersey native who transitioned at 59 and is now discovering what comes next.

Rather than presenting transition as the conclusion of Petrillo’s story, CALL ME MICKY focuses on the life unfolding afterward — through Pride celebrations, open mics, friendships, storytelling and Petrillo’s increasingly public embrace of the man he fought decades to become.

Jackson also appears in the film, joining Petrillo for an intimate on-camera conversation about identity, visibility and what it means to finally live openly as yourself.

Internationally recognized for her commanding portrayal of Elektra on FX’s groundbreaking series POSE, Jackson is an actress, model, activist and producer who also served as an Executive Producer of the acclaimed documentary I’M YOUR VENUS, which premiered at the Tribeca Festival.

Petrillo is the author of the memoir Walking the Earth: First as a Woman, Then a Man.

While CALL ME MICKY captures one chapter of Petrillo’s much larger story, the film offers an intimate portrait of a man discovering that becoming yourself is not the ending — it may only be the beginning.

CALL ME MICKY is produced by CARDINAL, a New York City–based creative production company, and directed by CARDINAL co-founder Andrew Rasmussen.

The film begins its festival run this fall, with additional screenings and festival announcements forthcoming.
